I just walked away from my job. Money was great, people were great but the hours sucked and I decided that the industry was not where I wanted to be. After 6 weeks of hell and no end in sight for the madness for atleast a year, I made the decision that compromising everything else in my life, including my health, for money and a job that I really couldn't get behind, was not worth it. I am going to take some real time off instead of jumping back into another frying pan so that I can take a breather and figure out what it is that I want to be doing. I spent the last 10 years busting my ass in the corporate world in jobs that were pretty cool but they really didn't inspire me or fill me with any real sense of fullfillment. I finally realized that there has to be something more inspiring for me out there and I am going to find it.
I took a 2 hour walk today in the sunshine with my ipod. I forgot how great the days can be when you don't have someone breathing down your neck and yelling at you all day. I am going to take advantage of this break as it may be the last one I ever get.
I'll check back in in a few weeks when money becomes a problem and let you know how things are going.
I posted a job for TOTA peeps last week!

if you have IT/Developer skills (especially relating to enterprise systems development - like Remedy, WebFocus, Vitria, etc.) i can pass your resume on to my boss @ AIS who does quite a bit of telco placement.
