Trancetribe - The Event

Trancetribe - The event.
launching MAY 2005

Well, it's finally here, almost! The Trancetribe event has been a long time coming, and a long time planning. But the team are very excited to present to you the Trancetribe monthly event.

Key ideas
Sydney is lacking in a truly intimate, music centric club trance night. A night where the crowd is small enough to make it feel cosy, but also just big enough to make it a pumping. The trancetribe event is aiming at bringing back that truly underground atmosphere, the excitement of hearing fresh new tunes, seeing your closest friends, and experiencing the best club trance DJs in Sydney.

The Music
There will never be more than 4 DJs in each room per night. This means that every DJ set is 2 hours long. We have done this because of all the genres of dance music, trance is the most rewarding when the DJs can truly express their style, set progression and track selection. With 2 hour sets, the DJs can truly provide us with a showcase of what they can do.

The Blue Room
The blue room is the main room, showcasing the true upfront club trance sounds, ranging from deep progressive trance, melodic & uplifting trance, and tech trance. If you're unsure of the sounds, just think anything from Marcus Schults, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Randy Katana, Askew, and everything in between.

The Red Room
The red room is the back room, but ny no means the secondary room. The red room has been designed to provide an alternative to the blue room. We are excited to provide Sydney with a selection of Techno, Tech Trance and Hard Trance. We chose these styles because we want to cater for everyone's tastes, and not just the Armin style trance lovers. By having techno Djs leading into harder DJs, we beleive we have truly provided fresh sounds for Sydney's clubbers.

The red and blue colours represent the red (hard) and blue (melodic) colours of our record label.

Decor & Lighting
To make the night more special, our team are currently hard at work creating themed decor for each room. Blue and purple decor for the Blue room, and red and crimson decor for the Red room. Coupled with the decor will be themed mood lighting for both rooms, and also the rest of the club.

With regards to dancefloor lighting and lasers. We tend to beleive that all that is needed is just the right amount of lighting and FX. Sometimes more lasers does not equate to more fun. That said, there will be lasers, but expect the lighting and lasers to be just the right amount to create the perfect atmosphere.

[The Lineup]
We can announce some of the lineup, and we will announce the remaining two soon. We are just waiting for confirmation.

BLUE ROOM
10:00 - 12:00 - Scott Richardson
12:00 - 02:00 - Cameron O'Shea
02:00 - 04:00 - Jumping Jack
04:00 - 06:00 - Muli

RED ROOM
10:00 - 12:00 - Steve Noble
12:00 - 02:00 - E-Mass
02:00 - 04:00 - xxxxxxxxxxx
04:00 - 06:00 - xxxxxxxxxxx

The rotating DJ Lineup
The team have selected a handful of DJs who will be on constant rotation in the blue room and we will do the same for the red room. We have done this because it's not just about the punters, but also this event caters for the DJs. The rotating roster means that all DJs get to play a main set, as well as opening and late sets. Of course if their style does not permit them to play late, or early, then they don't play that week.

The lineup for the 2nd event in the blue room is looking to be:
10:00 - 12:00 - Luke Sykes
12:00 - 02:00 - Stama
02:00 - 04:00 - Rob Noble
04:00 - 06:00 - xxxxxxxxxxxx

So as you can see, we are definitely going to be providing a great selection of fresh DJs each month selected from the best DJs we have.

Your choice
Upon the launch of the new web site, we will be kicking off a feature whereby you guys can select your favorite DJ to play. One for the red room, and one for the blue room. To make this fair, we will be providing a short list of candidates each month, who we think all equally deserve to play, and to keep it fair that same DJ can't be piblically chosen the following month. Keeping in mind that DJ may already be on the roster anyway. This is a fresh concept that Scott Bond is adopting in the UK for his AHEAD events, and it has turned out to be very successful. The TT event team are very keen to make sure the punters get what they want out of the event, and we hope this is one way to do this.

The Venue
We aren't going to announce the exact date or venue until its fully confirmed. But the proposed venue is considered to be the best vennue for it's size. The venue will take 400 people or so, and with that size crowd the place is pumping big time.

Grooveinc.org
We are also excited to announce that the Grooveinc DJs have been invited to be key players in the red room. Grooveinc.org is essentially doing what we are doing in the dance community - everything they can do to promote the music they love and make the scene better. So we are proud to say that every month, Grooveinc Hard Dance & Techno DJs will be selected to bang it out in the red room. As you can see, two spots in the red room have not been announced yet

What about the missing info?
We just couldn't resist releasing this info as early as possible. We're getting really excited about the event and thought you would be too. But we couldn't spill ALL the details straight away. Expect confirmation of the date and venue within the next 72 hours. We'll lock in the final three djs very soon too keep checking!

Conclusion
We have a really great team of people working on the event, and everyone is excited about finally giving Sydney what it has been missing since the legendary days of Halcyon/Altitude and A night at the Icebox.
It's no secret that the key to the ongoing success of the night is the turnout, thus we hope everyone from TT who is able, comes. To us, personally, it punters walk away smiling, then it's a success for us!

More soon!

Scottie

thats the post I just did on TT, so I thought I would copy it across.

Would love your feedback and ideas on this one guys, especially in going forward with the ongoing events. We have tried to cater for a wide range of sounds, at least ones that work well in a club atmosphere.

The blue room will be used to showcase more prog sounds too, and we have some great stuff in the works for coming events.

Way McMillin, for example will be gracing the decks in the blue room soon.

We have pretty much tried to make a night where the music flows well in both rooms, while still providing a contrast between each room.

Cheers

Scottie

From that list, I can say that elemance is definitely on the carts, as is Jace and peekz. The 5AM'ers are certain to be playing at various events.
