Police Raid Club Over Nude 'Art Night'

Wed Apr 6, 9:36 AM ET

Oddly Enough - Reuters

BOISE, Idaho (Reuters) - An Idaho strip club that attempted to get around a ban on full nudity by giving patrons sketch pads for special "art nights" was cited for violating the city's nudity rules, officials said on Tuesday.

The citation was issued on Monday night to the Erotic City Gentleman's Club in Boise, Idaho.

Boise allows full nudity for "serious artistic" expression only, so the club handed out pencils and sketch pads to patrons so they could sketch naked women.

A police spokeswoman said officials concluded, however, that patrons were not focused on art, so officers cited three dancers for violations of the city nudity ordinance. "The case is being reviewed by the Boise city attorney for the possibility of future citations," said spokeswoman Lynn Hightower.

Erotic City owner Chris Teague called the citations a violation of the civil rights of the dancers, as well as an "insult to the patrons." But the club would suspend 'art night' until the matter was settled in court.

meh. i dont like ANY in toronto

the only one i could say i actually enjoy is Phanny's up in North Bay.

Its just awesome... and since its way up there... its never over crowded and full of annoying patrons... most strip clubs are just too over packed and rowdy and commerical for my liking.

Like whuts up w/ the public school welfare chair seating they have set up in rows at the Brass Rail

whutever. id rather go to guv! a night of solid 8-10 hours of partying to trance over dancing naked chicks anyday! trance is key!

In windsor you can hear americans raving up and down the streets about how good the strip clubs are.
They aren't good at all, they must have it really bad over there.

True enough.. I don't think I'll ever look @ half-naked Chicks @ Parties the same way after being @ Guv, but Solid Gold here in London is pretty close.

Their clientele aren't really that rowdy, and it's at least somewhat classy, although no strip club can really keep 'class' points. Although a couple of the girls there sometimes JUST don't get the hint when you tell them you don't want to go to the VIP.. Mostly all the Features there dance to half decent Dark House / Trance tunes.

Ever seen a girl strip to 'At Night (Mousse T Mix)' by Shakedown? I'll tell you, it's awesome.

Same thing goes w/ 'Smack My Bitch Up' by Prodigy, it's a favorite over there

Haha.

I never understood the laws that made topless bars ok but full nude bars not. Its not like theres sex going on in there

In any case, I gotta give the owners props for thinking of something so original.

I am not a big strip club goer but about a week ago I had to go pick someone up at the airport and I got there way too early...so, what a man to do...I went across the street (almost literally) into one of those airport strip clubs to waste some time . The girls were actually really impressive, all young and sexy but they were all passive just sitting around talking to each other...dancing skills were average. Whiskey a gogo is probabbly the best I've been to (but I've never been to brass rail or any of those). One of the girls offered to buy me a drink at the Guv if we ever run into each other there . Some friends of mine said Montreal has some insanely good ones.

If there wasn't full nudity I wouldn't be there.... shit, I'm a vagina man afterall.

Of course the US is prudish when it comes to this sort of thing... they were founded by quakers and puritans, not the most liberated people on the planet.

What I find interesting is that they still cannot show a nipple on television, however, they can show people get shot to death or hacked to a bloody pulp.... because we all know children won't be traumatized by watching a grusome murder but a tit is gonna fuck them up for life! I mean, that's why I started doing drugs... I saw my first tit and I was so messed up I needed to escape reality.

The A&F catalogues were very original and tastefully done if u ask me. i dont see why they needed to be pulled at all. cudos to them for trying to be different and distinguishing themslves. an amazing line of clothing and it really is the shame that they were sued over that

crap

The catalogues were ALWAYS in a special slip that prevented you from seing any type of nudity whatsoever on the cover or inside. The slip/cover clearly indicated they were for sale for people of 18 years of age or older, and they were checking IDs. Yet...they still were sued over them and forced to pull them off the shelves. RETARDED!!!!

Then they got sued for hiring only good looking people by some ugly fat chick that didn't get a job with A&F. RETARDED!!!!!

They are still doing really well, and they are continuing with the sexual aspect as well, but unfortunately it all had to be tamed down, because god forbid... we're all going to hell.

honestly, you hear about that, about ppl and orgs being sued over that and it just fucking drives you nuts. so much bullshit, as if that is allowed to happen where frivilious things like that actually can and do get them brought to court and then THEY end up losing in the end. whut complete bs.

i finally it actually appauling and enfuriating... i cnat believe whut some whiners get away w/ in teh us and canada

When I was in college, we used the A&F catalogues to conduct "gay vs. straight wars" on a friend's dorm room door. She was bi and we thought it would be funny if her straight friends and her gay friends teamed up to war over who could claim her as their own (a big effin' joke if there ever was one). The rules were you could only use pics from the catalogues and each day a new gay and a new straight "ad" to claim Brazee would get tacked to her door. By the end, the door was COVERED in our collages. "Come be with us Brazee! It's a girls only kinda club."

ROFL

Now *that's* taking lemons to lemonade....
