haha dude, Holland isnt the USA. They dont check your ID or something. No problem to get in for a 16 year old.

Posted by jupiterone on Apr-23-2005 22:07:

Dont they check you before you go in...i look really young =\. My parents said theyd love to go to dance valley so no problem for me to go jsut aslong as id be able to get in and not just them. Cause on the main site it says we check id's.

Posted by jupiterone on Apr-24-2005 02:04:

Id go to holland just to go to holland either way. Any people from holland know if they do check them id's at DV

Posted by basvh on Apr-24-2005 08:52:

No they dont check ID. Only if you look really really young you have a problem.

yeah i have noticed that! i have found really bad edm culture education is really lacking for the youth culture, and i really would like to do something about it in my own local community or even country cause i know what it feels like(maybe i will do something about when i turn 18+ and promote my own events, i sick and tired missing out on really good music festivals.

sorry off topic!

you may proceed on the topic.

Would they just throw you out?

no they wont. Remember there are 60 000 people dancing. Of course there is security walking at every stage. However they mostly watch for people who are being aggresive or fighting.

As long you dont look 12 there is no problem getting in. Also what I noticed is that a normal 16 year old American looks much older then a 16 year old Dutchie.

What to do waiting for getting in:
Walk through the entrance
Almost everytime there are 2 security guards for each lane.
first one checks your ticket
second one frisks you.
If you walk to the guy who frisks you make sure everything is out of your pockets. So putt your telephone, wallet, gum, coins etc in your hand. They might check your wallet but only for drugs or knives.

Also remember when waiting in line to just be cool, dont worry. age-rules arent strict in the netherlands, you most definately get in.
If you are realley really really unlike and they say: you are to young son. Just say that you are american, didnt know the rules, you espacially come for dance valley, bla bla bla. If the security guy is nice he will let you in. Also proberly there will be big 18+ signs but thats just to scare people away.

Here is picture of DV2003 etrance. Notice the separete lanes and security guys (yellow shirts)

Last one to get you in the mood

At the end of the day when all the lights are slowly turned on

do I have to buy tickets online or can I buy them at the venue when I get there??

Posted by basvh on Apr-24-2005 18:16:

If you want to be 100% sure you should buy tickets online. you can order them at www.ticketbox.nl You can choose 2 kind of tickets: Weekend tickets or only saturday. Make sure you order the right one. If you want to buy the weekend tickets make sure you read the camping rules on www.dancevalley.com. THey are pretty strict!

Dance Valley is ALWAYS sold out, however not weeks in advance. If it sells out it will proberly be 1-3 days before the event. On the other hand: there are some many festivals in holland, the choice is too much and bigger festivals, such as dance valley and mysteryland suffer ticketsales because of this. So it might be that you can buy tickets at the festival itself.

CONCLUSION: If you want to be sure, just order them from ticketbox. I havent heard much complaints about them. So it is save to order.
