Power Supply

Can anyone in the know help me out.

The power supply to my laptop recently blew. Its 'specification' is as follows,

AC Input:100-240V, 2A, 50-60Hz

DC Output: 19.0V, 6.32A MAX(120W MAX)

Replacement ones are turning out to be harder to find than i thought, can i get away with using ones which have a different specification without damaging my laptop?

e.g. I have an HP power supply lying around for my printer with the 'specification',

Input: 100-240V, 1.5A, 50-60Hz
Output: 19V, 3.16A LPS

Any ideas if this could possibly work, Im having a hard time on google and i couldnt think of a forum before people moan that was anymore appropriate than this one. (other than maybe the FAQ forum, but its not as lively)

no that wont work the maximum current for the printer supply is too low for the laptop.

6A vs 3A it will blow as soon as the fan turns on the laptop.

Plus I would be very wary of "replacement" parts for your computer. The power supply for you laptop could be center pin negative and the "replacement" power supply center pin positive.

But the power brick is usally common for most models of the same manufacturers laptops.
