Ibiza-House/Trance?

lo,

this is for openminded-folks only

http://oehoe18.mine.nu/~deekay/experimental-01.mp3

kinda ibiza style or so (thats what terry bones called it anyway hehe)

EARLY SAMPLE! expect many changes hehe

- nice full pads
- cool kick and hats
- nice chord stabs! they really set the mood of the track and give it a unique almost funky vibe
- that part at 2:00 sort of reminds me of the Underworld sound
- great guitar
- this tune definatly has soul
- maybe increase levels on the bass
- after the break the 4/4 hats should be a tad louder for better drive

i'd like to do a remix sometime if you'd be ok with that

Posted by dEEkAy on Apr-08-2005 18:51:

it's a rhodes, not a guitar

anyway, we can talk about a remix when that track is finished

You did a great job picking the samples...those are awesome! Love the "tutorial guy"! LOL

The pads are wicked...nice enveloping on em! The sounds are way cool! Very well developed! The car driving by sound FX?? is awesome...and the Rhodes really is great!
There is a high freq on the Rhodes that really bothers my ears...you hear that?

Excellent production here man!

I assume you're talking about the repeating rhodes-pads (not the freestyle-melody) right? I noticed that myself (can really hurt when you turn up the volume ) actually they resulted from bitcrushing the sound. will fix that soon anyway as you were not the only one who found it disturbing

very nice. great samples/production. has a good feeling jazzy vibe to it.

Posted by Sunquest on Apr-09-2005 02:35:

excellent sounds, mastering is out of this world!!! hehe
excellent beats
great guitar
that high tweeeeeeee thingy is really no good, should take that out or make it real quiet
overall this is pure new york driving downtown style of song hehe
other than the high twee sound, its excellent

peace out

whats that "tutorial guy" thingy?

Posted by Snowave on Apr-09-2005 11:01:

this is floating sound kind of.. but. lets forget about that,. this sound as clear kind of progressive house a good sound.

This track is so chill... what great mastering. You have an excellent touch.

Posted by iloop on Apr-11-2005 03:09:

smooth track, its been repeating for a while now and im still not bored. a bit short, but other than that its prime. I like the suttle changes, kick, and atmosphere...

lil update:

Posted by Klangzentrum on Apr-16-2005 12:01:

nice one, matt!

imo the bassdrum is a bit too punchy! sounds a bit dirty...
the melodies are really cool! just the sun in missing now!

Posted by dEEkAy on Apr-16-2005 12:05:

huh? did you check the recent sample ?
it's as smooth as a baby's arse

perhaps it's just my broken monitor (vibration of the "body kit" )

nice stuff there...

Posted by dEEkAy on Apr-21-2005 18:11:

very huge update

http://oehoe18.mine.nu/~deekay/balearic.mp3

started from scratch and only ported the organ from the old version

Posted by eulerfx on Apr-21-2005 20:28:

I actually like the first one better. The melodic break sounded better and seemed to fit your melody better. I liked the housey vibe of the first one. This one seems more like trance, and those strings/rhodes in the background don't really fit a trance song IMO.

Posted by dEEkAy on Apr-21-2005 20:37:

prolly going to finish both versions in the end cuz i still do like the housier version as well
