Automation problems in Logic 5.5

Hey Guys,
I'm having a bit of a problem with automating my vst's in Logic,
When i draw in the automation and play the track the changes seem to happen before the time bar hits. eg, the cut off on my vst rises before the sequence hits

any one have this problem before???
