Disaster! HELP me please
My headphone plug got stuck inside the mixer's headphone jack. When i took out the headphones the end part of the plug got stuck inside. Kinda just split from the unscrewable part of the ogld adaptor.
Dunno if u get me but now there is a piece stuck INSIDE my mixer's headphone jack.
How the heck can I get it out ?!?! Even by unscrewing the mixer I might not be able to coz it's INSIDE the hole.
HELP~!!!
well since the headphone jack is already broke... put some super glue [or EPXOY (the things you can do with epoxy!)] at the end of a stick. Pop it out
dunno pull the mixer apart! (to a certain extent!)

What I'd do is solder wires onto the little wire legs and pull that ****** out.
Make sure to try and solder as much of the leg things to the wire as possible (solder over the greatest length of the leg as possible).
Possibly depends on how much you can see/ size of your soldering iron tip I supose though.
Without knowing the mixer it might be easier to try to properly take it to bits.
I'm with Orbiutal on this one, get a matchstick, whack some araldite (epoxy resin) on the end and, very carefully, stick it too the offending plug.... done this before and it works a treat.
stick something plastic just a **** hair bigger then the whole of the jack that is stuck.. ram it in and yank it...

what the method to take out a broke light bulb? I think a potato.. heheheh use a potato to take it out
Rafale, did you try to unscrew the hole phone socket?
You should just replace the complete headphones socket.
That happened to me once, but it was the Tip of the 1/8 - 1/4 inch
adaptor.
Had to replace the whole thing. There's really no way to get it out
without damaging the pins in the process. Go to your local Radio
Shack, and, pick up a new 1/4 Stereo Socket.
groovable:
Yeah I tried to unscrew the top panel.. but beneath the headphone socket theres like a lid or sumthing which I don't wanna remove coz it looks pretty delicate!
OMNIFEX .. won't I need to wire the thing back to the mixer parts.. that will be quite risky as well.. might screw it up.
If your scared to do it, don't try it.
I've been opening amps, mixers, turntables, since 14 years
old (Now 25) Its a simple job, but, if you feel your not
up to it, take it to a repair shop, and let them do it.
this happened to me like a month ago and I was just as choked as you.
Anyway, what I did to get the plug out of the mixer was take the broken part that came out and put it back in. You kind of have to push it and rotate to make sure those metal things go where they're supposed to. Once the plug is (semi) back together, carefully pull it out. This might take a couple tries depending on how fucked your plug is, but it should come out.
Now I dont know if your plug is repairable but with my mdrv700's I just threw anothe Unimatch plug on from some old mdrv300's, hopefully there's that same type of deal with yours.

Try using a jeweller's flat-headed scewdriver to push aside the two springy contacts inside and turn the mixer upside-down! Give it a shake and it might just drop out. If they're too big, try straightening a paper clip and doing the same thing.
its not the two contacts that are stuck. its the 'penis-head' front part of the plug that is wedged inside somehow.. i'M gonna unscrew the lid again tonight and see what I can do..
thanks for all the help so far!
cheeRsss
p/s NEM any advise!? =P

Your waisting your time.

Broken Penis-Head
What I was thinking was that the contacts in the jack are keeping the broken penis-head inside the headphone jack unit. If you push the lower one aside, it may allow the broken piece to move if you invert the mixer. Then you would try to push the middle contact aside while the mixer is still upside down and try to shake it loose and out. It's the lower contact that may be holding it in place. Don't try to stick the rest of the broken plug in there; it will only force it in more.

( ) Broken penis-head
Or you may have jammed it past the last contact deep into the headphone jack, in which case you may be screwed.
yup.. i jammed it in deep last night. and its impossible to take it out without taking the whole jack apart.
I'm gonna bring it to a DJ shop.

Just one last thing..
Do the headphone plug point in mixers vary by model? Or is there a generic thing?
The store guy said he will have to ship it to Behringer to get that replacement part.
I asked him whether I could just buy that particular part from Radioshack or something and he said its not Generic.
Advise please.
Sending it back to Behringer's gonna take 2 months at least damnit.

as someone said, use some glue to the end of a headphone jack and stick them togeather, pull it out, my suggestion would be to buy a cheap pair of headphones (the ones you can get for 5 for walkmans) and use thse.
you didn't get me man. I said I tried that but its wedged in.
just need to know whether those parts are generic or not?
