September 24th is the date for this years loveparade again in San Franscico! Man was it a blast last year. Get your days off already. You guys ALL better come this time!

Yeah, when I saw that date I almost shit my pants because I was afraid I might have to be in Tokyo that weekend for work...but thankfully the event is being held the next-to-last weekend of September this year instead of the traditional last weekend....so if I go to Tokyo, I should get back the Tuesday or Wednesday before LP!

I hope this one's bigger than last years!
(and perhaps more well organized)

A slight problem! There is a huge Green Day concert scheduled at SBC Park on the same date, with doors opening at 5pm! The route passes right by SBC Park. Maybe it's only a minor problem, but I thought the end was being staged in part of the SBC lots? Oh my god, and look how much they are charging float operators this year! Hope that's not a deterrent to pepole wanting to enter floats.

woot for violence! last year did rock...and it rocked quite hard. can't wait!

Woot woot! PARTY OF THE YEAR! I expect all West Coast TA's to go to this one. Especially when it's free and all ages. Green Day meets EDM. Mwahahah. That'll be interesting.

!!!!love parade last year was solid!!! can;t wait...but i can see the GREEN DAY concert being an issue...what will all those greenday fans do when when the entrance is blocked by thousands of screaming EMD heads

any idea if there will be some semi-big name DJs playing? last year we had people like sandra collins and hybrid...but i heard that only the sponsors of the floats can book the DJs not the organizers of loveparade themselves...

anyway im hoping there would be more advertising and hype around it this time

Posted by DaveT on Apr-11-2005 08:56:

From the gossip going around, looks like there's at least some chance of some big things for this year's parade!

stay tuned! Really too early to tell.

Posted by Zharen on Apr-11-2005 09:27:

I think Gabriel & Dresden should be booked to play. SF is their hometown after all. And there's nothing like a hometown duo to represent the city better than by playing at Love Parade. Plus I still need to get my copy of Bloom signed by them.

But yeah, getting some other big names like Paul van Dyk or Sasha to come over here too would be awesome.

Don't worry about the green day concert. It won't mess things up. You'll see.

That's because there's one thing both EDM and Green Day fans can unite on, OUR HATRED OF BUSH!

i think its intiresting, that they put on the LPSF site they said "We can't have 30 floats of all house music" when reffering to application requisites and rules.

Well, I think that's the right thing to do? What's the point of having 10 floats that are all playing the same music?

Yeah who'd knew but at last year's LP, there were several people wearing shirts with Bush's face crossed out and a few people waving Anti-Bush signs, most likely to protest the RAVE Act he passed. It was pretty amusing.

i can't wait to see what DJs are gonna be at the LP this year, from what i heard about last year, it was the place to be in SF in september!

trust me it doesn't even matter which DJs are playing. I didn't catch any headliners last year, and still had an absolutely incredible time !
