Good, intelligent Hip Hop

Anyone recommend me some good hip hop? I been listening to Immortal Technique lately and love that style, I know some of you are into hip hop.

Music Discussion
This is where you can talk about Trance, or any electronic music.

Some albums that come to mind:

Quasimoto - The Unseen
Madvillain - Madvillainy
Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein
Unsung Heroes - Unleashed
VA - 2001: A Rhyme Odyssey
Deltron 3000 - Deltron 3000

watch out we may get back into that discussion again ...

I used to love Wu-Tang, and most of the solo albums they put out. Almost all their beats are solid.

Wu-Tang Clan - Wu-Tang Forever

I listened to some mf doom stuff the other day with my friend, wasnt to shabby. Its listenable i guess .

Kyprios, K-Os and (I don't know if they qualify as "Intelligent") N.E.R.D are some of my favourites.

gym class heros

Posted by Djeebie on Apr-11-2005 21:04:

Gift of Gab
The Roots
Outkast

Some class acts that come to mind. Don't know Immortal Technique though, so maybe these aren't your style.

Kool Keith has some fucked up, sick ass tracks.

Kweli, of course

Living Legends are pretty decent tho ive heard their new cd is a bit bleh.

Handsome Boy Modeling School's recent cd is dope.

Becks new cd is ace, tho not technically hip hop.

prolly more, but thats a good jump off|

(ps. the Just Blaze tracks on The Game's cd are actually pretty fucking good)

Posted by fissipissi on Apr-11-2005 21:17:

hip-hop,rap is neither good nor intelligent ...its not even music but annoying noise in most cases

Posted by RapidFire on Apr-11-2005 21:17:

Ah how could I forget Kool Keith. "Party In The Mourge" is a mad tune. Anyone reccoment any other tracks from him?

harsh. i insult ignorant people, no matter where. now stop making a fool of yourself.

funny, people on these boards complain about all the trance/house prejudices, but they aint better themselves.

Posted by fissipissi on Apr-11-2005 22:27:

your making a fool of yourself if you sympathisize with noise roaring and in many cases called monkey music =rap,hip-hop on a trance board

Posted by dj tek on Apr-11-2005 22:30:

of course i'll say you the Wu and all its affiliates : Killarmy, Sunz of Man, Gravediggaz, Royal Fam, Brooklyn Zoo, Remedy and Sheheim but more imortantly, checkout The GZA/Genius... "Liquid Swords, "Beneathe The Surface" and "The Legend of The Liquid Swords" are classics. Lyrically, no one can touch Gary Grice. simple but sharp and deadly style similar to none.
