Fasting

How many have done it? What are the pros and cons for just a day?

I've read in a Natural Health magazine that we have 8-15 lbs of decayed fecal matter stored in our bodies.Colon cleansing anyone?

Anyways, I'm going to do this for today. Try to rid myself of some toxins. Or would my one day fast be merely in vain? What would happen if I started just fasting one day a week? Increased concentration and clarity? or decreased energy and lower metabolism? Or.. should I flush myself with only cranberry juice? Help!!!

Heath buffs post !

A month !! Wow.. That's some discipline !

How did you feel? New... or broken ?

My girlfriend does it every now and then. She used to have a pretty bad eating disorder, though. It still comes up every now and then, but we're really into exercising and eating healthy now. It's just a lot harder for her.

You'll lose a shitload of weight. If I do nothing but drink water one day I'll lose around a pound or so. Do it extremely carefully though. And if you do, be sure to take a multivitamin.

ei ei captain ! Will do that right now.

But, is my attempt to rid myself of toxins in vain? Will fasting one day a week produce clarity or just that sluggish energy? How does your gf feel throughout the day when she fasts? I guess I'll know soon! Will post results ...

Your mind will function better. Trust me on this. And yes u do get more energy with less bodily harmfuls in ur body.

But i havent done this in a long time.. just dont have the discipline

My friend doesnt really eat when we used to do exams. he apparently got a lot of As.

Oh one day a week should be fine. Your appetite will probably shrink, as well. Fasting in a healthy way is actually a great thing to do.

I think its more a mental thing, then it is physical.

To give my body a much needed break. It's stuffed with so much shit (fats, sugars, salts, solids) that it's constantly regurgitating itself I think I take for granted just how hard it works to dissolve all that I stuff in absent mindedly. Plus, as I've stated, I've read that fasting is "supposed" to rid your body of built up toxins So that is all... I'm sure someone can elaborate in much more technical terms (as im waiting for also) or sure someone can also disagree?

I mean, im sure it "makes sence" kind of. But I don't think I would notice a difference. I think its the fact that if you are hungry, you will keep thinking about it, thus making more brain activity. And after awhile you will convince your self that you feel "better." But who knows I could be wrong, not eating does make me flip out, so maybe it does give you energy .

I think the joy from eating a good meal, is better then the joy of not eating at all .

why not just get rid of fats, sugars and salts from your diet instead of fasting? fasting one day a week wont help you become health at all.

Surely you dont get more energy, considering food is where people get there energy, mainly carbohyfrates.

Posted by Sunsnail on Apr-12-2005 19:28:

It'd be better to just eat better

Posted by Laux de par on Apr-12-2005 19:49:

tuve los tacos *hopes failure to be a bit more discreet en una otra lengua.

ehh.. perhaps next tuesday Sandstorm? You shall be my motivation!

I'M A FAILURE !@!

I'll even it out with a nice, healthy glass of soy.

My Dad is deeply religious and is also a minister. When I was growing up, he fasted for 40 days, as Jesus did in the Bible. It was rough on him. His hair turned white and started to fall out near the end of it and as you can imagine, he shriveled up and lost any muscle he had.
