Uplifting Trance (Back In The Day)

I hear a lot of talk on this board about the "glory days" of uplifting trance in 1998-99. Unfortunately, I was wasting my time listening to other crap in that time period, so do you have any suggestions of good uplifting trance from that time period?

Check out both these compilations from 1999...both on MoS
Trance Nation (Mixed by Ferry Corsten)
Clubber's Guide To Trance (Mixed by ATB)

They have the best anthems from that time and will bring back memories or create new ones

Just check out the OLD Tiesto, Armin van buuren, sakin, ferry corsten stuff. They all played uplifting during the day. Now out of these 4 djs, 3 play progressive now...

i still dont think that tiesto is very progressive now...i mean he IS more prog than before, but he still aint no Sasha/Digweed...peas/

I have to admit that Oakenfolds album "Tranceport, really includes som phat trax from that period (Cafe del Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Three 'n One Remix) , aaaaaaaaaaaaah..) Trance Nation 3 (by Ferry Corsten, is even better, eventhough it�s a bit newer)

But, hey I�m sooooo tired of everybody slacking progressive trance off. I know it�s been discussed before, but I don�t follow you, Do you actually mean that you dislike productions from acts like Sander Kleinenberg, Max Graham etc.. I t�s pure evolution GET OVER IT!

biznology has it right...saturday night i was at a party with my friends, having a *great* time, and out of nowhere the dj (i think it was either mars or nostrum) threw on Binary Finary - 1998 (Paul van Dyk Mix)...i couldn't even dance, after i looked at a few of my friends and gave them a nod i just stood there with my eyes closed... it was perfect, just perfect. anyway, i'm getting a little off topic here. old compilations are good, but really don't do justice to the music in my opinion. find some old live sets, Oakenfold Live from Home @ Space in Ibiza was the first live set i ever heard, and to this day it's still my favorite. PvD's MOS Session from i think it's '98 is also very, very good. Another that springs to mind is Ferry Corsten's set at Innercity in '99...kind of on the newer side, but it's there. also, listen to JDamage. it's most definetly going on around you at this very moment.
