That's why we gotta work on bringing a serious Trance/Prog event to Madison this summer!

Let's get on it gents

Ugh, so far away!

Posted by tylerc on Apr-14-2005 02:59:

Hmmm....some not so good news on the terrace show situation. Got this email today from the girl in charge of the booking:

"....To be honest we are almost fully booked for the summer but perhaps you would be interested in a fall show. The committee meets Wed. at 5 p.m. To get on the agenda,....."

So unless we can get a full proposal together by Wednesday and impress the committee it looks like we need a new venue.

Columbus, OH is hurting for quality acts!

Posted by Daniel K on Apr-14-2005 03:27:

Daniel K "secret gig" LIVE @ Colombus, OH

Posted by Tuis on Apr-14-2005 03:28:

Yeah, right now, audience of about 3...neighbors not complaining so that is a good thing.

The Sound Republic is gonna be fuckin sick.

You have been warned.

No worries dude, does anyone have time to go to that meeting next wed, aside from it being the same night as Ferry and 4/20... I'd definitely be willing to write up a proposal...

Other than that, let's start tossing out suggestions for other possible venues, anyone have anything in mind? I know the Majestic is bomb, but it would no doubt be a bit pricey...

The Majestic is no longer bomb. In fact it sucks and i'm boycotting it for life...long story, but basically the owner hates djs.

King Club might be good. High Noon Saloon is good too. Inferno is pretty sweet. I know most of the promoters in town I'll see if anyone could get us a big night.

Posted by RJT on Apr-14-2005 04:18:

Yeah dude, I've heard good things about both King Club and Inferno... only thing I've heard about Inferno though is that it's got a bit of the freaky people scene evoking memories of the mid nineties "Club Kid" scene (Anyone who hasn't read "Clubland" would do well to.)...

In any event, definitely follow up with promoters and let me know, I'm willing to work with you every step of the way to get something booked man, I'm jonesing already and it hasn't even been a week!

And BTW, I only mentioned the Majestic b/c I've only been there once for a show by "The Bad Plus" and I thought it was a dope looking place, that's all...

i'd like inferno the best, more space than king club. and bring the 'club kid' freaks on, the more the merrier. anyone remember richie hawtin there last year? blew my fucking mind...

I've also boycotted the Majestic.

there are actually a fair number of prog djs in the area these days. it kinda befuddles me that we haven't gotten a bigger night together here.

theres you, me, harsh, donnie, ben, adamthetree, marscruiser, mazi (though i think he's hanging it up), and i think i'm forgetting someone....

but shit, we need to do a night here. i'm moving to tennessee in august and i'll be in mn all summer, so lets get crackin.
