MIDI controller for FL5 FX....?

Is it possible to use a MIDI controller of some kind to control the effects parameters in FL5? When I'm recording fx in the program, I only use my mouse and only control and record one knob at a time...for example if I'm using a filter, i can only use my mouse to control the resonance parameter only. Basically I want to buy a MIDI controller and have all the paramets assigned to knobs on the controller. is this possible? No one at Guitar Center could help me with this today. thanks.

The best way to do it is to buy a Midi Controller keyboard with control pots on, such as the Evolution MK425/449/461C or the Oxygen 8 or M-Audio Radium. They have upwards of eight controller pots on them and you basically assign these to the parameter you wish to control by right clicking the effect and assign to controller.

hope that helps.

thanks. I have a MIDI keyboard already...I'm looking into getting a controller just to control knobs and such in FL...somethign like this...

also, I have a Allen and Heath Xone 92 mixer which has a midi clock...can i use that to control FL functions? I looked through my manual, and they are vague about what you can and cannot do.

no you cant use it to controll fl functions all you can use it for is syncing midi tracks to the midi clock. ie playing a track directly from flp and having the pitch adjusted to the midi clock. however if i might be mistaken but im pretty sure how that works.

does it assign the knobs on the keyboard by itself or can I select what gets mapped to what...? thanks

you can select what gets set but you can make templates that auto assign the knobs so it rembers how you assigned them and shit. so yes you can map yourself and create presets for the mapping to your liking

thanks a lot.

Just to make sure though...you can use any controller that has MIDI ins and outs? I was looking at getting of of those korg Electribes which has MIDI conectivity...will one of those work?

yes technically you could use a korg electro vibe as a midi controller aslong as you can map the midi cc#'s
