RAPE DOWN!

Aw, I know how he does that.

Not really I would use that to get girls.

Posted by r5a on Apr-14-2005 12:05:

actually, real easy
half his stuff was just pulling a card off the top/bottom when u expect it to come from somewhere else, the other half was just flipping cards behind his fingers

And also using more than four cars and keeping them togeather (first two he throws down are sets of two watch it closely, ).

Watch how he hold the cards together at all times

Note the way he only flicks the last two kings he shows at the end? Thats because the first two "kings" are actually two sets of two cards the two king and the 2 of hearts and the 10 of spades.

Watch the kings:

Diamond -> Club -> Diamond -> Club

He pulls two cards first: two or ten on top, king of diamonds on bottom. He shows you the king of diamonds and flips the two cards onto the top of the deck, the king of diamonds being second from the top. He pulls the top card off (2 or 10) and places it on the table.

He then pulls the other two cards out of the deck and does the same thing with them: 2 or 10 on top and king of clubs on the bottom. He puts the two cards on the top of the deck so then he has 2 or 10 on top, king of clubs in middle and king of diamonds on bottom. He then puts the top card (the 2 or 10) on the table. He then pulls the king of diamonds off of the bottom and shows it and then the remaining king of clubs and shows it.

That's how the kings section is done. Now to figure out the 2 of hearts and 10 of spades sections.

Two of hearts section:

He shows the two of hearts on the bottom and says you're correct. He takes the bottom three and puts them on top, so the two of hearts is third from the top. Then he takes the two bottom cards and places them on top so the two of hearts is on the top. Then he takes the second card and puts it on the top so the two of hearts is second in the pile. This whole thing is just the shufflig of the cards, where he 'reverses the order'.

Once he's done that he takes the two top cards and flips them over, showing only the two of hearts, which was second on the pile. Then he flips both cards back over and puts the top card, which isn't the two of hearts on the bottom. Then he flips the top card over, which is now the two of hearts. Then he takes the two of hearts and puts it third in the fanned out deck.

Now with the two of hearts third in the deck he uses his index finger of his left hand to pull back the bottom card. Then he grabs the three other cards and turns them over, showing you the two of hearts. Then he puts the top card on the table. Then he uses the same trick with his index finger to grab the top two cards and flip them over, showing the two of hearts. He then uses the same trick to flip them both back over. Then he takes the top card and puts it on the bottom, so the two of hearts is actually on the top and then shows the two of hearts. Then when he says he is putting it on the bottom again, he pulls the bottom card again and puts the two top cards on the bottom, essentially putting the two of hearts in second. He flips the two top cards over and puts them back. Then he puts the second card on the table. Now the two of hearts is on the top and he shows that it is. Then he puts the two of hearts on the bottom and collects the rest of the cards.

That's the two of hearts section.

10 of spades:

He already has the 10 of spades sitting third in the deck with the two of hearts on the bottom.

First he pulls back the two of hearts and flips three over, revealing the 10 of spades as the 'top card'. He then puts one of the kings in his right hand and does the same thing, but with only two cards now. He shows the 'second card' being the ten of spades and flips the two back over. Then he puts the other king in his right hand and actually flips only the ten of spades saying it's the 'third card' and then he move the ten of spades closer to his left hand so it is hanging off, he grabs the bottom card (two of hearts) with his right and flips the ten of spades into his left hand for the 'fourth card'. So now he has: king, king, two, ten and he flips the stack showing the ten on the bottom.

Then each time he reshows the stack, he is pulling only the top card off and reshowing the ten of spades on the bottom, so he essentially reverses the order. Now he has ten, two, king, king.

Now he grabs the top and bottom card with his left hand and pulls the two middle cards with his right and shows the king of diamonds. Then he has: two of hearts, king of diamonds, ten of spades, king of clubs. He then puts the two of hearts on the table. Then with his left thumb, he pulls the top card (king of diamonds) into his left hand and takes the ten of spades and king of clubs with his right hand and shows the king of clubs. Then he flips them over and puts the ten of spades on the table. Then he grabs the bottom card and shows the king of diamonds and then shows the remaining king of clubs.

That's the trick.

We all know how he did it, yet it's still a nice bit of prestidigitation.

edit: I love using that word.

I just wanted to make sure it was possible with only four cards and no duplicates. It seemed that everyone else in the thread was just saying he uses slide of hand to do the trick. Well, no kidding, isn't that how all magic tricks work? I was curious to see how he did it, as I don't have a lot of magic trick experience under my belt and I thought others might like to know as well. I didn't think anyone would care that I posted it since you would stop reading my post after a sentence or so if you didn't want the trick spoiled. Plus, it's the end of the semester at Univerisity and I need something to keep my mind off of finishing my reports. =)
