Fuse-In Detroit??
So is there any word what the line up is going to look like for DEMF this year? Or any other fun and exciting info?? I'm flying in from ATL for it. I can't wait.
The line up hasn't been announced yet, but..
BT @ Bleu 05.27 (Friday)
&
Sasha @ Bleu 05.29 (Sunday)
I bet that place will be packed! Especially being only a couple blocks from Hart Plaza where DEMF is at.
I think a lot of the local TA's here are going to plan on meeting up somewhere... who knows
Both of those should be awesome, I really can't wait. I have friends that live by Wayne State, not too far away either. Any idea who is going to be at the Works?
Bad Boy Bill is also playing on saturday at bleu i believe...i'm seriously going to just be down town for three strait days...by the time the afterparties are over it'll be time to head back to heart plaza
check the link in my sig for more info in the event
SUPPORT THE DETROIT TECHNO SCENE!
Ok have y'all seen this??
Detroit Free Press. Music Festival 4/13/05
What do you think will happen? Do you think the parties will still go on, if the DEMF doesn't? Will they move it to the Fairgournds or something?
This year Saunderson has done things differently tho, he is having several FUSE-in charity events, the first of which was already successfull. If there is a five dollar cover so be it it's not like people won't pay it, if anthing a lot of people would be glad to help the event. Law teams and comercial advertisement agencies are also staffed this year creating a better plan for the event. Even if the city turnes down the loans/propositions etc. there is still a chance the event could survive this year. If not....SHITTY, but hopefully that will make for an even more momentus next year
Ok, I don't think the problem is so much that people won't pay the 5. It sounds as if the city won't allow them to charge for the event. It would be a change in the city's law for Hart Plaza. Hart Plaza is supposed to be for the people of the city to use as a free space. Including all events. The artcle just doesn't look to good, but I guess we will see after the Council meeting next week. I would be all about paying 5. The DEMF brings in too many people for Detroit just to say no. Either way. I'm looking forward to all of the other parties, and seeing my friends. It seems to rain every year, anyways.
(I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst, I have my plane ticket already)
They should just put donation boxes by all of the entrances. I know I'd gladly drop 5 - 10 dollars in it. That technically wouldn't be charging either. just a thought.
I thought that too, but every year they have shirts, buttons, DVD's, shot glasses, everything to buy, and nobody buys it. I could see them try and do that though. They just need make sure, they make the people aware of what would happen if people don't donate. I guess we'll just see what happens next week. I really hope it all works out. And hopefully if it does, there has been enough press, so the people that go will be bring some money to give.
the problem with all the merchandise is that half the people there buy demf stuff and the other half buy stuff from the dealer booths...i say F the programs because all they have done in the past is lost money on them, have vip sections that you have to pay to get to, have several booths for donations and boxes at the entrances, and make sure people understand the festival will die without support...i think people have been oblivious to the fact in the past.
I completly agree. I thought I had heard they were doing VIP this year, is that true?
BUMP*
not sure about the VIP that would be cool tho
