Scratching on a cdj
after watching a few various zabiela vids, ive seen that he scratches on a cdj with the transform effect on the efx500. having both of these, i was just wondering where i can get that "aaaah" sound from or a simple scratch sound to use? anyone have any good sources they could share with me?
cheers
You can buy battle cds, but they are a bit hard to come by, especially if you dont buy online.
Otherwise just buy battle records and rip them. There are thousands of battle records with the "Ah" sample. As it is the most commonly abused sample, besides possibly "fresh".

Ste
a while ago someone mentioned 'super duck breaks' as a good scratch vinyl that is also available on CD, but i listened to it partially on some site and it was mainly just breakbeats, and i didnt hear the 'ahh fresh' sample ...
where abouts on the cd are the vocal samples located etc? and also are there anny battle weapons with just vocal samples and no beats on them?
ok cheers for the help people
i have my efx in between my cdj and my mixer directly in line, due to my mixer having no send and return, doh!
i just recorded the exact same tone from the video using cool edit. i set it so it recorded audio from the 'Wave' source and just played the video. the sound he uses isnt the actual 'AAAAhhhhhh' sound, but its very similar. i tried looping the Aaahhhh sound and it didnt loop perfectly like it did on his video no matter how hard i tried. once i had recorded the audio from the video, i just cut the scratch tone noise out, looped it in cool edit and burned it to cd. the sound quality isnt amazing, but people are more interested with what you can do with a scratch tone rather than what it sounds like (imo)
pm for ya mate
Actual tone has been sent
