as ian mentioned in terms of sets your best bet are sets from dj guy salama usually with some guest artist/dj for a second hour .. good psy but hard to find tracklists for the shows and more often then not its just the artist pimping their newest album rather then anything new ..

when it comes to artists i guess theres a few that would spring to mind to give you a general idea of what psy trance is like .. astrix's album eye to eye is a great album worth checking out .. going with the theme of more mainstream psy perhaps such artists like astral projection (their album "amen" or "another world"), atomic pulse, alien project, infected mushroom, etnica, psysex ..

just like trance though you can pigeon hole psy trance with sub genres .. goa vs psy .. morning full-on psy, prog psy, fucked-up psy, etc etc ..

might say more later .. my head is a bit vacant atm

I am loving Eskimo stuff atm, great productions!
With all this loving of psy, you best be making your way up to zogg beginning of May minihere

Posted by Jim on Apr-18-2005 19:05:

Where is it?

I doubt i'll be able to make it up to the one at the start of may, major cashflow issues

Erm, may make it to the next one though, been listening to the radio station you mentioned and it plays some pretty cool stuff

So will try and make it to a zogg night and will also get meet a few of you UKTA lot again

Psy is popular among hard house/nrg DJs, since it has a very compatible drift with the other tracks they usually play. Sadly they seem to play mostly tunes which are rather shallow and lacking in psychedelic substance, which seems to be the case on this TL as well. It'll work on the floor and get things going I guess, but I don't really see the point when there is no "psy" to the psy trance.

Dog shit!

imo....

Apart from selected tracks of course, like with all genres.

Yeah I was a bit sceptical when I saw that it was mixed with hardtrance.

Thought i'd give it a go all the same though, first few tracks were alright but then it all went a bit too hardtrance/hardhousey for my liking.

that Chris Hutchinson guy has been spamming his mix info everywhere it seems .. and although i dont like to judge a book by its cover the t/l leaves a lot to be desired ..

as for philosomatika radio station .. i like it but it gets a bit too random blipty blop cpu noisy psy sometime .. i like my psy to be more structured and driving .. somewhat dancefloor orientated with some energy and it rarely seems that way there ..
