Stanton 505SK carts/styli any good for beatmixing?

as title really. Just bout to upgrade from Numark TT1625's to 1210's but im not sure what carts to get. I mix D&B, Trance (Hard/Prog/Uplifting) and thinking of learning some scratching.. Are the 505sk carts ok for what I wanna use em for? I cant really afford any better carts since i need to get some headshells and slipmatts too

thanks

505s are ok for their duability. As far as sound quality, and tracking ability, there ok. Not good, and not bad, but just ok. Really for the money, id save for a pair of m44gs.

btw, are you gonna get your 1210 new or used? b/c if new that'll come w/ a headshell.

used unfortunatly. I didnt expect technic headshells to be 20 each!

the stanton h4s headshell is cheaper than a technics one.

and in my opinion, i hate stanton everything they make is garbage. i bought there new headphones the pro dj 3000 and they broke within 3weeks.

i would stay away from stanton. and i'm pretty sure you can use the headshell u have now on your numarks and put it on the tech's. also don't you have slipmats now for your numarks?

I've had bad experiences w/ stanton products too in the past. (3 dead mixers, screwed str8-100 pitch, FS1.1 hardware problems just to name a few)

However, i own a pair of 520sks, and a 500al; to me those are the most indestructable carts ever made.

speaking of stanton, what do you guys think of stanton direct-drives as beginner decks?

i dunno, if you want to watch your money then i'd buy them but to me they are the suck.

if you know your gonna dj and spin for a while i would just buy tech's, thats what i did. i haven't been pissed yet... because whats the point in spending money on tables now, realizing they suck and have to buy techs later. in my honest opinion, and if i knew i was gonna spin records for a long time... i'd just buy techs now.

i dont have a pair of decks. I started out on my mates tt1625's i think they are. Now I have the money and starting to outgrow the basic numarks i feel its time i should invest My original plan was to just go out and buy sum 1200/1210's cos like u say whats the point buying anything less. Ill only want to go out and buy them eventually.

i was looking at the h4s headshell's. they look better than the technics. I might just try and source some original secondhand technic headshells and new 505sk carts.. (Ive found the carts and stylis for 35ukp a pair )
