wow.... possibly the WORST NIGHT EVER.
compliments of Webster Hall..... i dont know if its because im not exactly the BIGGEST 18 y/o (i look none older or younger than 18 i guess), or because i was on line by myself, but yea... the bouncers/guestlist ppl at Webster Hall ruined my night. so, let me start from the beginning....
....i was supposed to meet with one of the ppl in charge of Tranzworld Fridays, giving him my demo and to say whats up, we already established this would happen, so i decided, hmmm.. lemme go a little bit earlier so as not to catch him at a horrible time while everythings hectic. so, i told the other 20 ppl in my group that i was oing early and they said ok, they were gunna be there an hour or an hour and a half after i got there at like 1130. so, i get on line (lemme tell u what i was wearing, just to give u a context on how ridiculous the situation ends up).... so im wearing a black Banana republic button down shirt, grey, sort of pinstripe pants from H&M, and some black shoes from Puma's sister company in Europe, GOLA (very similar to Pumas, if not, classier, and less athletic). ok, so i get to the front of the line, im ready to get in so i could hear "this is derb.... this is the sound of TODAY".... the woman checking IDs looks at me, and says "are you by yourself"... i said "yea, now i am, but its my friends bday, and im meeting a group of like 20 that are coming later, but im the earliest one in the group so i mite as well go in. then, she looks at me, and says "there are no sneaekers allowed in the club". that was the last thing i expected to hear at Webster Hall, considering the bloke in front of me that just got in had Air Force Ones, and the bloke behind me was wearing some Pumas, and im wearing Golas. so i say "im sorry, but that dude just got in with those shoes" and i pointed, she says "no, sorry... no sneakers in the club".... now, before i go on and u think im just bitching, lemme say this.... the people on line looked like the line from Reggaeton Saturdays @ Exit, there was no indication of a Tranzworld Friday taking place on the main floor... as a matter of fact, the overhead sign for WH says only "Friday Amateur Burlesque, Win 500$", as if Derb were gunna be there every Friday and the Amateur Burlesque was a once a year thing. so, like i said, im the ONLY one that actually looked like nething resembling a typical house or trance music loving clubber. but whatever, i decided not to make matters worse so i said FUCK THIS, this isnt STUDIO 54, theres not 10,000 ppl aching to get in there, but whatever, i wont make a scene... so i bounce and i get a call JUST as shes handing my ID back. my boy's car just got stolen with 100$ worth of shrooms, hes freaking out, his dealer wont understand.... so, im so involved in helping my boy on the phone, god knows where i put my ID, i wasnt paying attention at all.... so, whatever, i said id help him tomorrow, but i wanted to get my club on, so i go to Spirit, wait on line, almost get in, until the dude checking IDs comes around, to which i open my wallet and realize ITS NOT IN THERE.... i look in my 3243 pockets in my jacket, my pants, my backpockets, everywhere.... so i thought, maybe the chick at WH didnt let me in because she thought my ID was fake and she kept it and i didnt realize it because of my friends' crises? so i go back to Webster Hall, im a block away when i was going through my 10th search of my wallet and then found some pocket in my wallet THAT I NEVER EVER USE NOR WILL I EVER USE.... i totally didnt even realize i put my ID in there. so, i just decided to go home, before i got hit by a bus or something, because it wasnt my day... and a message to Webster Hall TW Fridays... cmon, this isnt DJ Kazzanova spinni nthe best in reggaeton and hip hop on main floor.... its Hennes and Cold who havent been to the city in how many years? Tranzworld Fridays is new, and im willing to give it another 1 or 2 chances, but if ur trying to promote a trance weekly, dont NOT let in the one single person on the line that looks like he is a trance fan, its like ur trying to not make a good name for it. cmon.
...i will give it another chance though.
and ill admit... im not the BIGGEST 18 y/o, but cmon... Webster Hall is not Studio 54, its not THEEEE place to be. i was "dressed to impress", and i certainly wasnt the smallest one there either, im not small, i look just enough to pass for 18 (which i am, so it sucks how she just was not letting me in no matter what as if she thought my ID was fake, which it wasnt). gaaaaaay.
well webster hall better get their act together by may 29. that's all i have to say. if i fly in from FL and they pull some kind of bullshit, i'm gonna be really upset.

Yea welcome to shit that I've witnessed 100 times there. Never really seen that kind of shit pulled anywhere else. They regularly don't let in guys who they don't like the look of, making up some dumb excuse. If you've got a vagina, though, you can get in wearing pajamas and flip flops. 
Sorry they ruined your night, man, but now maybe you see a little bit of why WH sucks and the crowd sucks. Although I'm sure a stupid door policy happens almost everywhere somtimes.

they probably saw the 18 year old who they wouldnt get any money from drinks on, so it didnt hurt for them to say my Gola's werent good enough, but the 21 year old Big Pun lookalike's Air Force Ones were.... whatever, thats how life is sometimes, next time (as long as its nothing less than a superstar trance DJ), ill make sure i go with the 20 ppl in my group, instead of meeting them inside. but either way, it looked like a line outside for Copa Cabana, not TRANZWORLD FRIDAYS.
Wow! What a coincidence, though not nearly as bad as your night 
I remember not being allowed into Glow @ Fur for Marco V night b/c I was wearing a pair of GOLA's. Now, I knew from the beginning that Fur was some wannabe upscale venue, but their dress code says "dress to impress." While my shirt and jeans were Diesel, the thug ass bitch working the door was like "naw 'lil hommie, u need to cop u sum dress shoes, cuz dat shit is whack." Anyone who's ever worn GOLA's KNOWS that they aren't whack or even considered sneakers. I would classify them as trendy shoes. Fortunately I was able to salvage the night b/c a promoter hooked me up w/ black pair of Kenneth Coles. Then the thug bitch was like, "now das hot." I swear I wanted to stab him...
wow, thats a pretty crazy coincidence hahahaha yea dude, my Golas are black and suede, totally above considering it an "athletic shoe", nicer than the nicest Pumas, i couldnt believe she considered those sneakers. whatever... shit happens, its funny how u didnt get in cos of Golas either lol

i had one of the worst nights EVER but turned it into one of the best nights ever.. went to cellar bar for hybrid, waited a fucking HOUR +++ while the bouncer let all these dental-floss FUGLY chicks in just bc of the fact that they were wearing dental floss....
i was sad to go bc so many of my friends were on line or already inside but ended up going to Movida-- EVEN WORSE!!! fucking disgustingly pretentious people trying to be lil rich kids and whatnot-- fuck that!! and the music sucked- the dj was SO FUCKED UP on drugs he kept dropping the needle and taking it off the record that was PLAYING outloud.. .WTF?!??!!
so i went home with a friend, spilt 2 bottles of wine, a lil hard alkie, listened to minimal tech and electro and went nuts!! ...then passed out..on the floor. for 4 hours. no hangover!! 
wahaha!!! i had so much fun. 
dam man, 100's dollars worth of shrooms down the drain........
i had a pretty dang bad night too myself

I really hate when that happens .Thank God it has never happened to me at any club in NYC, even though I always wear my Puma's cuz they are really comfortable.
However it has happened to me in L.I clubs because they always try to make it look like their club is really classy and stuff,when the music and crowd are commercial crap Its just funny to see how clubs that arent worth going to ,always give you a hard time when trying to get in Im sorry your night was ruined
for Cosmic gate(the only TW party i have attended)... i had a ticket, and you can wear sneakers and you can skip the line and walk right to the front.
just something to consider...

lol, I didn't know WH could be so picky with their crowd. My friend who went said the main floor was so dead they shut it down early at like 3:30. That sucks big time.
i was talking to one of the head promoters for tranzworld fridays and he said theres going to be big changes for th ekids coming to hear th emusic on the main floor...if your coming to hear the dance music you will be ok also if you have a ticket you will aoutomaticly be allowed in...its still a new party so give it some time and when the summer comes shit should all be in order...also darude, cosmic gate ,kai tracid , atb scot project and slick rick are all coming soon ...so shits about to pop off just give it some time....
ill definitely give Webster Hall a chance again, with some of the acts coming in, i guess its without question that ill find myself there... but cmon, what type of crowd did they think they were pulling in by having DERB there that night? honestly, ithought i was overdressed for the event b4 i went there, considering i went to an opera (@ Lincoln Center) with my little cousin for her first time which finished round 11. whatever, ill give you guys time, like u said, it IS a new party, just hope u guys work things out with the Webster Hall people because there wasnt even mention of Hennes and Cold on the giant overhead thingy outside, Amateur Burlesque for 500$ was the main event, it seemed.
I really want to go and check out ATB, Ive never seen him live and it sounds like it would be interesting to see him spin live.But, it being at WH,Im having second thoughts now,I think I would rather go to Avalon for this one!Because WH sucks overall!!!!!!!!
