UPDATE: Nomen Nescio - Bright Light (Solid Globe Kinda track)

Hey people,

I am back. I have saved this track for a couple of weeks already, let it hear to all my tranceminded friends to hear their comments.

Now I am ready to post it. It is really a nice piece of work in my opinion. There is a Solid Globe kind of feel in the track. For the title of the track "Bright Light" I thank my German mate Riialto, who was the first person to hear this track and he suggested this title which really suits the track.

Let me hear what you guys think. The soundquality through Soundclick sounds less good as the normal 320 version so this point is already noted by myself

UPDATE:

After some good reactions from amateur DJ's around the globe I decided to update Bright Light. I have changed the following things:

- New better kick
- Extra bassline added so the track has more power
- Added an extra hi hat riff
- Equalized the lead better
- Added an extra higher string riff at the end of the lead section
- Lowered the volume of the track
- Completely remastered the track with the new Nomen Nescio Flavour

This new version is called Bright Light 2005 and can be heard at the link below:

hmm yeah i like it. good uplifting stuff!
doesnt really remind me of solid globe tho imo
keep it up!

Hey. The kick seems a bit too... heavy maybe, not really too loud but too much of a tail on the end maybe (personal opinion). Like Gladius said, I'm not sure if I am hearing the Solid Globeness in the track. Its more like Estuera with the square+triangle wave. It sounds a little too muddy, needs a bit better mixing and mastering. Something else I'd recomend that in the beginning of the track to give a bit more of an intro, that first synth you lay down (the Estuera type one), should maybe have a reverb on it and use some automation and have the dry levels flow from 0%->65% with the wet levels set between 15%->35%. It will add a bit more professional type intro . Other than that, keep up the good work man .

Cheers,
Zac

Thanks for the reactions so far. Would have hoped for more reactions, since I feel this track is better than Spring Sun.

So keep them coming

really fresh stuff this, some parts of the track sound pro, some dont (almost)... A little tweaking and this track is even better than it is already... Keep up the good stuff...

Hey,
Listening ... MMM I dont like the kick man, sounds to heavy imo, that synth lead that appears is interesting, dunno, like the intro is a bit convetional , but it does the job cool though .
Breakdown, not bad, pretty cool.
In overall, I liked too much more your other track dude, this one is cool, but dunno, like kinda dont made me nothing , the track lacks of some energy and the buildup kinda dont worked for me, of course is just my very personal taste, the track itself is good, good work .
Kopi =o.

Posted by djrenco on Apr-19-2005 19:03:

listening... first of all, i don't like the kick bassline and that flanged synth are very nice percussion is a little standard.
the solidglobe synth is very good. melody is nice, but not really special for me. when all comes in it sounds a little distorted i think... you should change the lead maybe?
anyway good job man

cheers,
Renco

Really nice flangered synth indeed in the build-up. I like that double clap you use, original. Nice synths and melo in the break. Maybe when the climax kicks in it could use a bit more energy. Nice melodies again now and the synths sound ok (for a lq stream it is). Well, very cool track, i wish i could hear it in hq but for some reason soundclick allways give me problems with hq streams

i can definatly hear the solid globe-ness in this track, but as zac said it needs more of an intro only 30 seconds into it we hear the first synth, much too soon imo gotta have at least a minute to mix into the track. but thats just my opinion. other than that its an absolute beast of a track and with the success of north pole why would ppl not like this? great work
cheers

The bassline and kick need to be turned down alot...when the main melody kicks in after the break there is way too much distortion. I also think the stereo enhance on the bassline could be tweaked as well...it sounds like it's way off to the side. The synths are very well done. I like the break and the melody is decent. With some tweaking this could be a great track.

Thanks mate, I will turn down the kick and bassline. You were not the first who said the kick is too loud so I wil fix it. I have no studio monitors, just a good headphone but on headphones the kick never really sounds good enough.

Cheers!

Keep them coming people!

Hey people,

I adjusted the version of Bright Light. The volume of the kick and the bass have been turned down a lot so I am hoping for no more distortion comments. Also I EQ'ed the track a bit better.

Let me know what you guys think.

Cheers,

Nomen Nescio

kick sounds better now.i think you could also make a better intro for the track, like some others said and the transition after the break could be more powerful and flowing.but only my taste.

Hi Mate,

Nice track here. Synths are well done, maybe a little more reverb on the synth that comes@0:34. percusion seems to simple imo. synths and flangers are always top notch very nice. The Break is ok, but doesnt make me go wild Again nice track.

greets

Hey mate, after editing I accidentaly took away a riff sound during the transition but it is already back in So now like you said on page one the track should be perfect again

Thanks for the comment.

first thing I have to say is that when it all kicks in after the break, it lacks a LOT of energy.
I can definitely hear the solid globe sounds here, reminds me of North Pole.
the melody is ok, the main synth isn't that good..
mmm percussions are kinda standard..one thing I'd add is a double kick or a crash or some fx before the bass in the intro.
that's all I think, not your best track imo, I've heard better ones from you anyway keep it up.

hey man,

great energy from the beginning - nice & chunky.

I'm not the biggest fan of the delay on the snare though.

I hear that Solid Globe sound.. very cool. You did a great job on getting really close to that style.

good all around production!

I look forward to hearing more of your stuff,
Trevor

Nice track with great potential.

Liking the over all idea very much but find the pad work a little thing (personal taste perhaps) could do with a boost with a few more layers or something.

Liking it though.

Cheers

Thanks mate for this comment. Opinions are diverse whether or not this track sounds like Solid Globe. I just hope it would sound like Nomen Nescio but while producing it I did think " hmzz the wing weng wung sound in the track sounds like the Solid Globe sound" Perhaps we use the same VST

The delay of the snare is mainly audible during the build up I think, I kind of like it and when all the sounds come together the snare doesn't sound empty anymore.
