I'm more disturbed by your avatar.
Wasn't your view of Catholics ever tarnished before this? He's just a man...
they picked him because he's old and he'll die soon. that way they'll have a chance to think about the future and what they want the chruch to go and then get a new pope...
If you did your resaerch then u would know it was compulsory to join the Hitler Youth back then, and he wasn't a too enthusiatic member
possibly, but this guy is an extreme conservative... just what we need
Back then either you were with Hitler or against him. Being a young boy and a blueprint for Hilter's Perfect race he had no choice from what I have read on this subject.

Isnt forgiveness and understanding part of Gods plan?

lol true. i just find it ironic that church dogma would state that "if 50 years ago you did something bad we cant let you worship God, sorry"
Who knows, an ex-youth might be just the thing the church needs

All the young children had the obligation to go there. Embrigadement belonged to the standard of the totalitarian modes.

wow, I wonder if this new pope even knows that there is no god. Someone should tell him! That'ill be a nice surprise before his deathbed!
"hey old pope d00d, that whole god thing is fiction"
Old Pope D00d: "Yeah I know, great joke isnt it!"

Some comedians take their work seriously. A joke this big needs to be nurtured. I dont think they will let the cat out of the bag for another few hundred years.
....man I wish i would be still around for the punchline, it'll be freaken halarious.
Is it just me, or does he look like a cartoon "evil twin" version of the old pope? Zombie John Paul II?
The Holy Ghost selected him to be the new Pope so who are we to judge...
The Catholic Church is a business. That's my whole problem with Catholicism. It's not about God, it's about money and power. People don't go to Church because they want to, they go because they feel obligated or for tradition. Over the past many centuries the Catholic Church has performed many abominations, casting a poor light on Christianity as a whole. I believe there are many Catholics that are good Christians, but the overall message is corrupted by the Church. Indulgences, the Crusades, etc, etc...
In Matthew, Jesus states that you cannot serve both money and God. I'm not trying to judge, by any means, but it seems like the Catholic Church is trying to straddle the fence on this one. The pope is a man, just like any other. Why is he so revered? Where does the bible say there should be a pope, or that one man should be considered higher than any others? Many of the policies of the Vatican aren't backed one iota by the Bible. I just don't get it.
