Technically, Saddam is also 'suspected' of genocide. But, as with Milosevic, the mountain of evidence makes saying that superfluous.

There was an extensive thread about Milosevic some time ago so I'm not going to hijack this one.

Are you dumb or something, i could provide a list of links the length of my arm as regards Milosevic and fraud....below i selected a few passages from said links to show the extent of his fraud...and if he shouldnt be on the list please state why...otherwise ill just presume your dumb or in denial or both.

Read this article first to understand how he raped the whole economy of Serbia/yugoslavia......

http://www.davidmcwilliams.ie/Artic...e=&ArticleID=84

Below are selected quuotes from a lengthy article about the billions secreted away through cypriot bank accounts.

quote:
One of the biggest international, financial crimes of all time was committed with Cyprus help. An astronomical amount, estimated by the Serbian authorities to be in the region of $4.3 billion, was transferred to Cyprus from Serbia, between 1992 and 1998 and deposited in the bank accounts of eight companies controlled by the Milosevic regime.

quote:
The money was transferred in cash by an unorthodox method - cement bags were filled with banknotes and brought to Cyprus by plane. This money belonged to the Serbian people who were robbed by their president in an unprecedented case of fraud. This astronomical amount was stolen from Serbias customs and the reserves of its Central Bank

quote:
As a result of this unbelievable scam, hundreds of thousands of poor people lost their savings. After the fall of the Milosevic regime, the government issued the people with bonds, thus showing that it recognised the rights of Milosevics victims and undertaking to return their money if it is ever found and returned to Serbia. This colossal financial crime took place in the knowledge of the Cyprus Central Bank, which played a disgraceful role.

And the Swiss connection..more billions

quote:
Mladjan Dinkic, Yugoslavias Central Bank governor, stated the Milosevic family deposited $4 billion between 1992 and 1993 and over one hundred questionable accounts of Yugoslav nationals are believed held in Swiss bank.

Now i could go on and on providing links and quotes for the rest of the day.....more significent fraud happened in Russian Chinese Greek and many other bank accounts thrughout the world...

So why shouldnt he be on that list, please enlighten me........

I can't weigh in on the question re:Saddam but the Saudis are legitimate. Remember Muhammad bin Saud took siezed control of that territory in a series of tribal wars. By the end of the wars the House of Saud owned nearly all of the land that is now Saudi Arabia. They gained their wealth by selling that land and/or the oil under it. While they may be less then ethical in their buisness and political dealings they are not corrupt (at least not in the same manner that the rest of those on the list are).

As previously said, it would be interesting to see one listing loss of human life by leaders.

I suppose that would put FDR and Lincoln pretty high on the list!

Hehe, good point. Obviously we'd need a bit more to go by than the loss of life, which can be a bit fuzzy to objectively measure.

Yeah, except that 2 countries on the list are infact from Europe.

But there's kinda the truth in what you said. Those ex-colonies are far more screwed up now than they ever were during the colonial period.

I can imagine...maybe if it is done it should be measured in percentage rather than numbers as obviously some countrys are bigger than others.

If that were the case, Lincoln would still be near the top of that list, no? I mean during the 1860's, the U.S. population was far lower than it is now and there were scores upon scores of deaths...almost all of them U.S. citizens. Clearly this measure would need a lot of caveats.
