i've volunteer'd a lot in my life and still do. however each project seems to get bigger and more rewarding. feeding like 75 homeless/sheltered people on thanksgiving a few years back was amazing... but reconstructing a mentally retarded center was also extremely worth doing.

after i retire, i plan on making it most of my life (along w/ writing music and my kids)

people who devote their lives to this deserve the most credit. they go through the same hardship as the people they are helping.

i can't imagine being stressed about all the projects i've worked on, on a daily occurance.

volunteering is easy to get into and you will meet some of the most influential people in your life through it.

i did habitat for humanity here in india for 5 days.

i have helped out with special olympics for years, which was propbably the biggest difference ive made. it was tough, poor children with mental disabilities. very tough, but good.

Well, I've never really helped people out like some of you guys have. I really should. I do however do lots of enviromental help. I'm quite the little tree-hugger.

sending my best friend through rehab, getting him a job, helping him make a down payment on a house, and helping him start over. the best expierence i have ever had in my entire life. that's true friendship right there, that's love. i have never felt so good about anything ever like that before. he now has a wife, 2 kids, and a career.

I let a down & out friend stay at my joint for 6 months. Then I let one of my girlfriends friends stay at my place for a month so she could get away from her woman-bashing boyfriend. Another girl from school crashed at my house for 4 or so months & has recently just moved out. The amount of thankyous I get for letting them stay makes me happy. But Im also happy to get my personal space back lol.
