aliases that were lost but not forgotten

part 1 of some series that I'll do when I wish

Alias - X-Cabs
Real Name - Chris Cowie, still producing last I heard

X-Cabs was the uber l33t trance alias for mr.cowie, mostly released on HooK...but some damn fine moment sniff

thoughts?

I'm also missing Chris' works under his X-Cabs alias. Simply brilliant releases and remixes, mostly at least!

Personally i'm missing Chicane's rather cool trancey Disco Citizens alias which is totally missing from his album 'Easy To Assemble' and singles released off it so far, and most likely will be missing from the updated/changed version of the album as well. Sad. The new version of the album is said to be released eventually.

Grim - That's funny. I play the Disco Citizens mixes of many Chicane tracks, but never knew it was one of his aliases.

Who is/are behind these aliases?
Ascension, Lustral, Fire & Ice (Can't remember), The Quest (Tiesto involved?)

I miss Breeder, Cosmos, and Kamaya Painters a lot. I miss Tiesto's old sound. His new, overly synthed out shit sucks.

Ascension = Lustral = Stephen Jones & Ricky Simmonds (aka Space Bros etc)
Fire & Ice = Jurgen Leyers (aka DJ Fire), Laurent Vronnez (aka L-Vee)
The Quest = Benno de Goeij (aka 1/2 Rank 1)

I knew old Airwave was part of Fire and Ice, but I couldn't associate and didn't want to Discog it. LOL

I didn't know that Lustral, Ascension, and Space Brothers were one and the same. Interesting.

Rank 1's coming this Friday, but it's a dj set. How anticlimaxtic.

Agreed, their remix of "The Promethtean Groove" by Kaistar is superb and "Jayn Hanna - Lost Without You (Edge Factor Journey)" is great too. Would love to see some more releases.

Mmm all the mixes of The Promethean Groove are great. Shame that BT has done only 1 track under his Kaistar alias. Maybe that should be mentioned in this thread too.

i wouldnt mind hearing some new breeder. there's also another 'quest' with luke chable in it, they did the track 'accelerator', but thats probably not what you are wondering about.
also beetpushers haven't been seen for some time, i was reading a thread the other day about them i think.

lustral isnt out yet , and i dont remember it being up to par with their older stuff. .

and is Para Siempre new? or is it just released?

Posted by swisstoni_uk on Apr-22-2005 13:47:

i always wondered who was behind Odessi, then found out it was it was Leama and Parks & Wilson (from Tilt). From that i remembered Killahurtz who aint done anything in ages since the remix of New Day on Tilts Explorer Album. The Tilt boys and Leama seem to have an endless list of aliases!
