Hey, what's with my flag?

The only listing for Korea is listed as "the democratic peoples' republic", but it looks like a North Korean flag. I might have missed something as I try to stay apolitical, but I don't remember North Korea being "Democratic".

I'd also like to add, that I'm not a Communist, and if I were, I probably wouldn't be able to post this from lack of a computer, and dignity.

Aren't you a Canadian citizen?

If so, why don't you change it to a Canadian flag then?

I have the same problem with the Canadian flag. I will not fly the Lieberal Party rag... only the true flag of Canada - the Red Ensign.

Don't mean to come off as irritable, but that's no 'Rag'.

That's a flag I'm mighty fucking proud of.

The way I see it, I was Korean before I was Canadian.

I was Korean when I was a fetus, but I wasn't Canadian until I was born on Canadian soil.

Besides, what is wrong with wanting to proudly display your roots?

Edit: That doesn't go on to mean that I'm not a proud Canadian...

Nothing wrong with being happy about your family's customs. But Canada should always come first. My dad was born in Holland and came here when he was 7. But you will NEVER see him fly a dutch flag. He's more Canadian than most Canadians! Same goes for his older brothers and sisters.

I dont understand people who were born here who pledge alliegiance to a country that in most cases they have never even been to. Id love to see someone born here go to those countries and try to convince people that live there that they are "italian", "korean", "portuguese". Meanwhile they probably cant even speak the local language to begin with.

My definition of "roots" is where generations and generations of your family are from...I was the first one in my family (for I don't know how many centuries) that was born outside of South Asia...so because my family for generations is from that region, I would say my "roots" are there...

I am so proud of being Canadian, and I LOVE the MAPLE LEAF but if you give me an option, I will proudly display the Pakistani flag because it reminds me where I'm originally from!!! (Which I very often forget because I'm so involved in this society)

Yeah, I'm getting a rep as a ranter and raver (lol) so I should end here but I wanted to say I totally agree with you, Mr. Prime Minister, in order to identify yourself with that old, historic culture it's very important to have visited and/or lived in and/or speak the language and/or practice the customs of that place!!! I love PAKISTANI WEDDINGS!!! BHANGRA ROCKS!!!! LOL!!!! Man, at one wedding, the guy who was playing the traditional drums (tablaa) mixed in "Equador" by SASH...what a wonderful mix of EDM and my culture!!! I swear, I was born to be a TA!!!!

LOL!!! You got the basics...now to get you in the group dances...hahahahaha...Actually, I'm taking more credit than I deserve...it's the INDIAN culture who know how to party WAY HARDER CORE than Pakistanis (at least the practicing Muslim Pakis--like the ones in my family)...however my younger generation still crank up the beats when the 'rents leave the building!

But my Indian friends, who have no inhibitions (i.e. full service bars and "stuff") those parties are absolutely fucking insane (as long as no one pulls out weapons and shit for looking at someone's HOT ASS girl for longer than 2 seconds) LOL!!!!

why..because the old one had the Union Jack on it and you're Irish? oh wow...damn, isn't that surprising. The Red Ensign is a much nicer flag to look at and never should have been changed. You don't see Australia or New Zealand altering their flags.

And plus...the Maple Leaf? I'll fly the Canadian flag because it's ours after all...but there were so many better choices. When you think about it, it's just a dumb symbol for a country.

I think the old flag looks bad (no disrespect)
The current Canadian flag got to be on of the best looking flags in the world imo

i dont care much about the issue, but i like the simplicity of the new maple leaf flag. i just think it looks better too.

probably because you've never known anything else. People laugh at our flag you know. People absolutely hated it in the 60s and many still hate it today.
