Do you trust your country's leader?

Due to the UK elections coming up. Not many people trust Tony Blair anymore. Is this the same in your country? have you lost faith in your leader?

For Canada: yes and no. I dont think Mr Martin would do something incredibly stupid, and i trust him in that way. The problem i have with him tho is that im not sure how much he was involved in the sponsorship scandal (if any?). But I wouldnt vote for him anyway even though his party is probably closest to my beliefs of the parties here in canada.

For Sweden: Yes i do trust Gran Persson, I would not vote for his party tho, but i trust him.

Personally speaking (i cant really speak for the people who have elected the same party into power for 19 of the last 20 years or something) i dont trust this party on local issues, on issues of national interest i have more trust, but allways trust of a sceptical nature. The political party in question is Fianna Fail (i know each and everyone of you has heard of them.. ) my pet name for them is The strokers Party....allways pulling fast ones at every opertunity...allways have allways will, blah blah blah...rant rant rant...im annoyed you even brought this issue up...thats how much i dislike them....now dont bring it up again allright........

Of course. It wouldn't be in his interest to break his word.

Well logicly the question asks if I trust him either all, none or some of the time.

And he has lied in the past (lying bastard part). About some of the stuff around Iraq and past election commitments.

But I still trust some of the stuff he says. Partly because if he gets caught out now he's at risk of fucking up his "legacy" which matters so much to him.

I obviously don't fully trust him, but I don't think every word that comes out of his mouth is a lie. And I'll deside on a case by case basis.

So I trust him some of the time.

Well, let me be the first then. I trust the Danish PM, Anders Fogh Rasmussen. So far he has implemented each and every single one of his campaign promises, and is extremely focused on making sure that his ministers live up to his high standards of dedication. At the same time, he scores points on stating his opinions and not letting himself be swayed by public opinion and media campaigns.
The left-leaning parties in Denmark are notorious for being extremely bad when they're in opposition, chosing mainly to engage in mud-slinging rather than working at making their policies become reality, but this PM seems to be greased in oil, because all their attacks just glide of him.
Apparently even the thick-headed voters are starting to understand this, and it has resulted in several of the "good ol'" stubborn leaders of the parties to the left has been toppled by younger politicians, who are not too full of themselves to, say, have launch with the leaders of extreme right wing parties. (Outrageous!!!)

However, if by "trusting your leader" you're asking whether I trust my leader to implement the policies that are best for me, then "no". I consider myself very liberal but our PM (even if he leads the liberal party) has declared the ideology obsolete and has rather non-liberal views on some issues.

Fianna fail is the party who is mainly in charge. The leader is a gobshite, but he doesnt seem too dodgey.

As for the party itself, i fucking despise them. Corrupt shower of ****s. Stems fro de Velera then on to charlie haughey. ick.

First. Welcome to the PDD.
Second. I've simply got to ask you: Why are you important? And is it yourself in your avatar?

Fuuuuuuuck naw!!!

Shiit I dont care WHAT party you are in the US....there is NO way in HELL you can possibly tell me that you believe that the US govt acts in the best interest of ALL its citizens. It is split so badly between parties that if you're not in the same party you have to be against the other. Its not based on individual issues like it should be....and have you ever heard dubya give a speech? I mean come on , pres's dont write their own speech, but they should be able to read them! He is a complete bafoon and honestly he embarrases america. If he were giving a speech to your company? Would you buy his product? I would say no....and so why does everyone buy his bullshit every day? I dont think the govt is out to get us or anything....i just think that network news is so slighted due to govt control that people are not getting an accurate account of events....and when thats the case...how can you trust em?
