Very Nice Track - Love the drumwork alot

Posted by IDarkISwordI on Apr-25-2005 00:57:

Hey.

-Wow, nice bass. I like it, clean and bassy and not overpowering.
-Kick seems to be lacking a bit of the upper frequencies (clicks) but thats a preferencial type thing.
-I like the filtered arpeggio coming in. It sounds nice.
-The transition could be made a little more powerful to get back into the beat. One possibility is automate both a low pass and a highpass filter on it. If youre using FLS then also set the send levels between 75% and 90%. Start out at the bottom with the low pass and the top with the high pass and then sweep them to thier opposites. One beat before the kick comes back in, reverse the automation back to its starting state then come in with a crash.
-The awesome chord/arpeggio that comes in is absent when the beat coems back in? Genre specific but I think itd be better for the chord to come in at its strongest right here.

Overall, the sample is good but could use some work. I liek the style and I like the rythms applied to it but theres a few things you coudl do to make it better (see above ). I'll be interested to hear what you do with the full track cause it could be killer .

Cheers,
Zac

yo Martin,

I think it's still kinda boring, not really working up to a climax
The samples are good though, and I like the bassline very much but I just think it's missing a catchy element or something...

To me, martin's style is this kinda driving minimal trance... I suppose you either like it or you don't! At some point in the not too distant future we're going to be doing a track together (when I can get my arse into gear!), which you should find will be a lot "bigger", in the sence of having a more uplifting trance lead...

Like I said, I am not really going for complex melodies etc with this particular track. Just energy

Cheers Neil

Hee mate,

Nice track,

Great drive in it. Good build up. Nice effects. This is good stuff. Really like the bassline. Maybe a great climax would really fatten up this track!

Keep up the great work

Hey Mef,
Listening ..... Nice Bass, clean and strong, the kick sounds a bit hard to me but that's just my personal taste . Nice Drums, I am digging a lot that loop u use, or u did, goes along with the track perfectly . I like also that kinda choir/Pad u use in the background.
In overall, drums are evry cool, and bass above all, as someone else mentione, it lacks of something, but maybe is cuze this is a demo, I am sure the final version will be great, keep ous update great job .
Kopi =o.

very good perc-work! reminds me a bit of Mike Shiver's remix to The Flute by Avanto.

except for that, there's, hmm, nothing just cool fx in the background..and the break which is nice....the tune sounds like something I'd hear as the background music in a radio show or smth..

good mastering.

that's all I think about it mate, nice tune here

Posted by Massive84 on Apr-25-2005 18:19:

yoyo martin!

Good track, disliked the kick a bit, lacked some edits or fx sounds here and there, but imo has good potential to follow Rewired up.

Doesn't beat rewired though

wow... pleasantly surprised by this. sounds great man.

I like how you threw in a little silence, then kicked it back in. added a little something to it.

Hi mef

Good percs, maybe a tad too much delay on some. And I'd give them just a tad more presence. Nice atmosphere with the pad. Saw synth is nice too, why not make it more special with a phaser on it or so.

That deeper synth at the end is cool, just bring it more upfront!

Very nice elements here dude, me likes!
