Rogers 60 GIG U/D Limit -- Anyone actually got a Warning about this ?
We're at 90gigs for the month - Yeah, yeah I know
right.
Well seeing as we went over 60 gigs and didn't get any warnings last month i decided to test if Rogers is actually serious about the warning letter and then cutting off service if you exceed the limit.
What i wanna know is have people been monitoring how much they download Or have are you guys calling Rogers bluff as well ? Has anyone actually been disconnected ? If so -- what area are you guys living in, cause it seems our area doesn't have that many leeches on the hub since we've been raping bandwidth for the last year or so and no one from Rogers has contacted us about it...
Currently on Rogers Xtreme connection -- and taking full advantage downloading all that warez, appz, pr0n and musak.
PS. Deleting it 24 hours later cause it's all for educational purposes only.
dloading caps are bullshit...

Serious replies only, please. I need to know if i should just go crazy and download everything i want in the next few days cause we're already getting the warning -- or hold back and try to restrain the torrent whores i live with.

Thanks for the tip, although there's only one post that's relavant to my question -- and that's not much help either with only 2 responses.
Personally, I don't think Rogers is that serious about enforcing this new limit -- it's a deterent, more then a hardline rule. At least that's the assumption i've been operating under for the past few weeks.

I'm allowed to expense $50 + tax for home Internet access, so I don't mind spending extra for more usage. If (when) I get my first warning, I'll be sure to discuss the options with Rogers. Other options: Bell Sympatico currently has no usage caps, although Rogers may have set precedent in the industry. There are also many 3rd parties who rent DSLAMs from Bell and sell their own ADSL services (traffic is switched to their network via Bell's ATM cloud). A few I can think of with unlimited usage (in no particular order): THT (www.tht.net) Look Communications (www.look.ca) MyCybernet (www.mycybernet.net) And there are many others... |
Oh, and don't forget to check out the new Rogers site...

i went over the limit 2 times. once by 10gigs and once by 15gigs and i didnt get any warnings or anything.
btw, their usage measurement tool on their website is wrong. it always shows less than what you actually have, which im not complaining about
