Just finished registering for my summer classes

... and BOY does it feel good. I got into all 6 courses I chose. 18 credits this summer. Will be done with all graduation requirements if I do well on them all.

Anyone else taking Summer Sessions??

i am taking summer classes also
can't wait

currently on my internship, only a week left

Posted by Yan on Apr-25-2005 14:14:

Wow. More people than I thought. Seems like I was able to get into every class I previously desired due to a lack of students taking summer courses at Stony Brook in New York.

Then again, the classes would be closed if not enough students were taking it... Hmmm...

Well... Considering I don't have too much money to blow, along with the fact that I'm not 21 yet (I know the drinking age is different outside of the country however I don't nearly have enough time to leave and enjoy myself in Europe/Asia/Australia/etc.), things would be less-than-stellar for me if I opted for a free summer.

I'm looking forward to those things within the next few years, though...

thats a good idea Yan. 18 credits in the summer is brutal though. stick with it and dont back down

Much thanks for the well wishes.

As brutal as it is, I want my next summer to be free so that I can end up doing what I've been waiting for since I entered Stony Brook University: Spending the summer doing intensive Japanese study while actually BEING in Japan. So you see... there is no option to screw up!

I used to do that every summer between my Middle School graduation and my High School graduation. Hit the jackpot the last summer I did this because I got a job at one of the 3 highest paying summer camp counselor jobs on Long Island.

Anyways, good luck with that! Are you good with kids? It really does help to be able to stoop to their level to fit in.

DAMN! That's crazy. RaverSurge (my best friend) is taking both Calc I and Calc II over his summer sessions. I think he's going to die.

But hey... Power to you! Best of luck.

The courses I'm taking are:

Session I: May 31 - July 8

American Literature I

Introduction to Linguistics

Classical Mythology

Session II: July 11 - August 19

20th-Century Novel

Intro to Cultural Anthropology

Elements of Statistics

That's a nice load! At least all are interesting minus linguistics and statistics .

I'm taking Spanish 212 and 214 during the summer. I'll be studying abroad in Spain !

I just had my first day back of my 2nd semester today. 16.5 Credits this term, but I would rather be in class then at work 9-5 5 days a week! 3 days a week i'm out at 2... and the other 2 days i'm out at noon! Once June rolls around... i'll have 3 day weekends with Fridays off

Posted by Noctone on May-03-2005 05:21:

I'm taking two five-week courses starting in June: one on technical writing and the other on matrix theory(linear algebra).

on second thought, never mind

Posted by starglider on May-03-2005 05:35:

I would like to take a summer class or two, but the ones I have left aren't offered in the summer as they're fairly specialized, e.g., Drug Design and Development, Advanced Bio-Organic Chemistry, Statistical Thermodynamics.
