This thread will simplify your life.

The information I am about to tell you is no secret.

Some of you may be fully aware of what I am about to tell you.

Some of you may not know and will thank me.

This thread will teach you the power of.........

you ready for it?......

DRAG AND DROP

THIS GREAT FEATURE ALLOWS YOU TO:

SEND MP3's TO YOUR FRIENDS WITH EASE: Just go into itunes, select the mp3 and drag it over the MSN window in the taskbar, windows will automatically select that window and just drop the file into the chat area. It'll send the person your chatting with the download prompt.

BURN MP3's WITH EASE: If you hate using the itunes burning feature (cause it leaves out CD text), you can select an entire playlist, and drag it into nero and it'll load the files in the burn cue.

LOAD PHOTO'S INTO PHOTOSHOP: You can drag a photo from windows explorer or from internet explorer/firefox into photoshop or any photo edit software by dragging the picture from the browser window into photoshop through the taskbar.

OPEN DOCUMENTS: in windows explorer, drag any document into microsoft word and it'll load.

These are just a few of the drag and drop options that most people don't know about and have made my computing days easier. I know, I'm a nerd. If anybody knows some cool new ways of utilizing the drag and drop feature, post 'em here.

Get clickin.

double click = open file, single click = internet.

Posted by karim on Apr-26-2005 04:01:

all these useless features are making things "easier" but inturn its drawing people further and further away from the root of computer language. soon, noone will be able to manupulate files normally when the convenient programs fail.

its like when german car companies started encasing their engines and plastic, sure it looks nice, and neat, and its easy to access the oil strip, but you sure as hell cant do anything to the car engine unless you send it to a mechanic. its like friggin macs, and other closed-ended products.

lol

Do you have to pay to use iTunes (I'm a cheapass nerd)

Posted by karim on Apr-26-2005 04:51:

no. I like itunes because it's very very simple to find music in your library. And when you've got 40+ gigs like I do, it's very handy.

Not only that, making playlists is a peace of cake.

The only downsides:

doesn't support cue sheets
visualization plugin is weak compared to some of the winamp ones: milkdrop

Hey Lisa, we should use this, then, to send our mp3s to each other!!! I've got Ferry @ Aria if you want...we can log on as Karim said and try it out...lemme know.

Karim, any limit to the size of the mp3 (i.e. is 255 MB ok?)

Posted by karim on Apr-26-2005 05:04:

It's simply a player not a sharing tool.

However, on the same network, you can have somebody's library available for you to play. My housemate and I have eachothers libraries available to eachother.

For sending, you just drag the file from iTunes into the MSN messenger window.

No size limits in messenger. However sadly there's no resume option either. So if the transfer fails near the end, you gotta do it all over again.
