an effect i can't figure out

ok, so i'm counting down the hours until my 21st b-day and i'm sitting here working on a track, kind of stuck. i need a good transition piece and one of my favorites comes from goldenscan.

tom if you are reading this, how in the world did you make this effect, i've been trying to re-create it, not for use just out of curiousity and i can't even get close.

It is just some bog-standard 'tom' hits from a set of 80's drum samples. You could probably find something similar from an 808 kit (or sample eastenders haha)

If you struggle to find them anywhere im sure i could sort out some samples.

Hey. If I'm not mistaken, that sounds a lot like the tom (high tom i think) from a Linn Drum machine. Some samples can be picked up here. Add some EQing and effects to it and I think it would sound pretty much exactly the same. Tried it out in floops to make sure but I think thats probably what it is.
