MSN Virus Spree

This time I was smart enough not to click it, especially since it came from someone I had deleted off my MSN list (and forgot to block, my bad there) for trying to send me one ages ago.

It's a JPG link (ie http://blahblah.com/blahblah.JPG).

It's a new one, not the one I was DUMB enough to click before (I saw you on this website, http://blahblah/[email protected]).

Now, normally I wouldn't associate a JPG link with a virus, and having not clicked it, I'm not 100%, but...

two people, one from each of my two MSNs, almost simaltaneously sent me the EXACT same URL followed by a :P, and there is no way these two guys should know each other.. hence my suspicions.

I'm waiting to see who gets it first, angelo, bryan or elena.

well first things first

if you dont know exactly what it is, dont open it.

especially MSN. usually it will type 2-3 lines very quickly and then go offline, that is an instant clue that its no good.

as for getting them off, most anti virus sites should have a quickfix.

yea well, mine came from angelo and it was left to me on msn while i was away

mcafee did nothing. and when i ran the scan, it didnt detect anything

so i see, greg is the punk behind my troubles

heck no. bryan gave it to me, and i gave it to some people on my OTHER msn, the music one. i never gave it to captain charisma.

heres 3 good online virus scanners i use. they all target different thigns, from viruses, trojans, worms andthe normal stuff to spyware and other data miners.

all free and all work well.

yeah, like the time peels tried to send me a link to naked pictures of sarah michelle gellar.. i knew there was something up with that so i didn't click!

just finished a full clean install, and reloaded all my programs.

if anyone gives me a virus, inadvertantly or purposefully, i'll beat them with a sack of hammers.

and no, i didnt get a virus.. i was having problems installing any software that uses the install shield, which is just about everything these days..
