creepy toronto bugs
ok..so I(and brynne aka lipstick) had a creepy bug experience the other day. heres the story
Im sitting on the couch playing Gran Turismo 4. I see what looks to be a fluff ball floating across the floor. then it stopped, changed directions and went up to brynes door, where there is a bit more light. The fluff ball now looks like a bug. Big, Id guess about 1.5 inches long. Then it went under her door and well..it was a creepy looking thing so I yelled at her because she had just gone to sleep. After some minor freaking out and searching the room, we find this big, corner it and her boyfriend killed it. Now none of us know what it is, and personally, Im pretty curious as to what this giant thing was.
The best way I can describe it(and of course, my description is different than hers, and her boyfriends but thats the joys of memory recall) is that it was a long tube like bug which tapered from one end to the other(dont know which end was tail) It had many legs, which seemed to go out in an M like fashion, with the middle of the M being the body of the bug. It was a tan to light green colour, and seemed to prefer the safety of darkness vs the light when we searched for it. It moved with pretty decent speed as well. Honestly it creeped me out because I have no idea what it was.
maybe somebody knows some odd bugs that live in this area and can help us out. It sure would put me at ease just to know what it is. And sorry, no pics, it crushed it and tossed it out in a kleenex.

I do alot of yard work, I see those guys all the time.
Nothin to worry about, just a common (but definatly gross looking) critter.
It's a Bedroom Gremlin. Scary little bastards. Careful - they bite.
Dont get it wet!!
And DONT feed it after midnight!!!

cuz i have those runnin outside my house when i leave the porch light on...frikkin fast. and nasty lookin.

I believe j_spot is pusillanimous.
I've seen these when I used to work in a warehouse. Weird bugs, they look like they are floating... VERY fast moving, I remember that much.
Well when I saw one for the first time I was a little "pusillanimous" too! I shrieked like a little girl! Well, maybe not quite, I actually just squashed it... and then ate it. (I'm with you VERTiGO)
Well... I could go on, but I don't want to BUG any of you!

Bugs found in Canada normally don't creep me out but if I see anything bigger than my hand or foot than yeah I'll turn around and walk/run the other way

i kill those all the time.
they run fast, but when you smash them with your shoe, their body disintegrates. all the legs that are left on the floor or stuck to your shoe keep twitching for some time.
ICK! Those are gross! We had some of those when I lived in North York. The funniest was one day, I was on the pc and I saw one fly by on the ground, and I thought everybody was home sleeping, so I didnt want to freak out loud and wake everybody up. For 20 min I was sitting there with my feet pulled under me on the chair, whispering to the cats to chase it, tryin to be as quiet as possible, freaked out of my mind.
Then everybody came home. I was sitting there as quiet as possible for nothing!
Never did find the f*cker tho :S

what Im trying to say, is that if I knew what it was, I wouldnt be so freaked out by it. Ive never seen a bug like this before, so it kind of got to me. You know, like a fear of the unknown. Now that theres some headway into it my lever of freaked outedness is severly diminished.
and dock spiders are horrible. My dad was bitten by one at our cottage up by thunder bay on the border of Quetico and turned red withing 5 minutes, and then was followed up by severe nausea, stomach cramps and diarrhea. Now were sure to check the boats before we go for a long trip in them.

the last month ive been attacked on a regular basis by centipedes/spiders, it sucks 
OMG that dock spider is one UGLY MOTHER ****** (a la Predator)
