updated! [Trance] Romi - A Melody (demo-cut)

Hi all,

I've finally find me some inspiration for a new track. After some reworked tracks i'm now busy with a new one. No real title yet, but i hope you enjoy this sample of the new track. It's a bit of a Tiesto sound. Here it is (longer and improved sample):

I've to work on the effects some more, but other suggestions to make the track better are as allways welcome.

ps. maybe someone knows a good title?

-Ron

Smoking ..umm..something

intro is absolutely cool :O ,overall is pretty cool for my taste

Thx for the reply Darkness_Hero. Anyone else with some comments? I'm gonna work on it tomorrow, so any input would be nice.

Thumbs up

This sounds really good, too bad it's only a piece of the song, would really like to listen to the complete track ... what did you use to create this ?

Posted by Romi on Apr-29-2005 06:15:

I'm glad you liked it so far groundzero74. I've made this song with Reason 3.0 btw. Any more input maybe?

Posted by groundzero74 on Apr-29-2005 12:38:

More input, ok...

I don'tknow if you intended it to be this way , but during the break there are no crash cymbals or something else to mark the start/end/buildup of the part. Not that this is a bad thing, but since the melody is somewhat off-beat this desorientated me somewhere in the middle of the break, during the first auditioning...

The sound choice = great, the strings are epic, the bass line during the break cannot is hardly audible, and it deserves to be heard.

Now the Beat... is something i always spend a lot of time on in my productions to get it to fit just right, yours could be more snappy if you know what i mean...

Everyhing i say here is just to help you make the song even better, i think this one's got potential... but maybe you need more experienced TA's to review it ... i haven't been released myself so who am i to give advice hey ...

Thx groundzero74. Great to finally have some comments i can work with. Some answers to your questions. No, the break was not final yet, i've been working on it today, and there are now a lot more effects in it including cymbals (it sounds a lot better now). I think the kick is ok now, but i will take another look at it. Thanx again for your comments.

The final version is almost finished now, i will let you guys know.

Hi Romi.

Nice synth work in this one. I like the track.
I think the bassline could use more color, it's too far back in the mix. Would bring more drive. Percs are pretty crisp, maybe just a tad too upfront.

Nice work overall!!

-Jay

Thanks for the reply Jay M.

A longer and improved sample is now available, same link. I'm not completely happy with it yet, but it sounds allready a lot better imo.
I'm curious what you think.

Awesome tune dude.

As for a name, im getting,"Eastern Sun" or "Sunset Awakens" etc... anything along those lines.

Thx JoeyEnv. And also thx for the titles you came up with, maybe i use one of those .

cool track Ron,

the body still a bit lacks, if you see the frequency spectrum, but the track sounds really good, good melodies as always from you,

nothing to complain about this time, really!

cool work mate,

keep it up!

ps.: i would like to catch you on msn, sometime

Peter

Hey Ron,

Again a lovely track from you. What I love about your tracks is the arrangement of the kicks and percussion. That sounds great. I wouldn't mind if you worked on my tracks

Melodywise this track is not as special as the ISOS kind of track you posted 2 weeks ago. But still very good and what you do very well is creating a certain atmosphere.

Love the track , I give it an 8.

Cheers,

Nomen Nescio

love it!

Great track!!! love the concept behind it! keep up the good work

great energy

i love the layers and drums even ure little fills .......problem lies in the melody it stays the same for a minute you need to use a filter or cutoff dependance on what synth you are using ans change it slighty using automatiom

dont get me wrong i like the sound ...which is the important thing but if you remember this point you wont you far wrong

a melody must constantly change in thickness - contrast is the first rule to all art ( mozart )

very impressed as i said with everything else

Nice sounds.
Bass drum ok.
1.00 The cymbols could be sharper
1.40 nice.
2.33 great bass
3.00 great stuff. Lots of energy.

I love the choir. It gives the track heaps of emotion. I have no critism for jo.

Title:
-Road of Tendrils?
-The Judgement Sorcerer?

Xeno.

I've gotta agree that it could do with more to fill it out, make the lead a bit sharper, etc

Otherwise very good.

7/10

(Scale: 0 = don't bother, 1-3 = needs work, 4-5 = nearly there, 6-8 = releasable, 9-10 = I'd play it)
