Well, this came up in the course of our thread which is the biggest. Someone suggested that we get a chat room.
See, we couldn't go to chat because we were never or rarely all online at the same time. If I recollect correctly, we had almost 20 regular posters but typically when we posted none of the others were online. Maybe, if we were lucky, two or three of us would post at the same time.
So we couldn't have gotten to know each other in a chat room.
That forum encompasses a huge amount of territory...southern California north to San Francisco...Modesto...and then north through Oregon, into Washington.
Maybe I would call our thread a conversation thread?
I'm not at all familiar with the PPR thread. It's name infers that it was created solely to attract TAs who wanted to pad their postcount but I have a feeling that it too took on the feel of a conversation thread.
I'm grateful for what happened in the California Plus Boomers n Whiskers thread because we, the group of us, really became friends and we wouldn't have without it. It never was intended to be a post padding thread.
