Uplifing trance tune from n00b producer

Hey producers, this is my first post in this forum. I'm hoping to get some feedback on a track I'm working on. I've never finnished a track before, but I'm thinkin of completing this one. If you don't like it at all, please tell me. It's made in Reason 3 and the genre is uplifting trance. Link below:

DJ Audun - Untitled v2

Edit: I have been working quite a bit on this tune now, so I've updated the sample. I'm actually rather pleased with the result. Unlike the last sample which was only 20 sec long, this one lasts for 3 minutes. In the sample you can hear the song from the beginning and almost till the breakdown. Please let me know what you think and bring on some constructive critisism.

See page 3 for newest update

Hey,
Listening .... Honestly, I was expecting something totally fucked up, but so far it does sound pretty cool man, the sample is really short, also U need to get some more midle FREQS in this one, I just hear low and highs, but barely Midle Freqs, try boosting ur pads, add a stereoenchancer also to give them more fullness.
U are going very good man .
Kopi =o.

For a rookie producer you have made a nice sample Too bad you did not give us more to listen too because now there really is not that much to judge. But what I have heard so far is promising.

Can you showcase more of your track?

Cheers,

Nomen Nescio

Aye thanks for the replies! You're totally right about the mid-frequency's, I'm going to fix that. I'll post a longer rip or the whole tune when I get a little further in the production. Nomen: I'm working on a progressive trance tune and another trance tune also atm, but I have gotten even shorter with them. I'll definitely post samples later thought.

Konstruktiv kritikk? Du suger! Ikke helt akkurat.
Your tune lacks bass... Increase volume, but watch the compressing/clipping.

Anyone else? It can't be that bad

Posted by Arctic Breeze on May-11-2005 21:18:

how'bout fixing the details already mentioned and take the next step from there

Posted by Timothy on May-12-2005 08:14:

It's a really great track so far. Can you send me a copy of the final version if you finish it? I don't have really much to add what the others have allready mentioned.

Love it!!
this is a really sharp tune dude.

I would boost the kick and bass a bit more, when the low end of the kick comes in under the hi bit, its a bit of an anti-climax, its just a bit too weak.

Synths are really cool, love around 0:59, when the synth gets blurred, then the beat kicks in, its really effective. then I was just being teased with a cool melody, and the sample finishes...

good stuff man, i really like what you've done

Very nice indeed!
I was expecting something different, perhaps not as good as it is. Looking forward to hear the final of it.

I didnt think I was going to like it at first by the way it started out, it was original but not really my style but after 1 minute YOU HAD ME! Loving the effects too Cant wait for the song!!!

Much better then I expected. The clip is really short. Though it shouldnt be a problem to extend it? Or is it? :P Not my cup of tea, but it seems like you got a good production going on. Good flow, but maybe some EQ'ing on different elements to make the track fit in the box of sound :P

Posted by DJ_Audun on May-14-2005 23:30:

Thanks for all the nice replies. I'm going to post another, longer sample when I've finnished the track. I'll also be sure to fix the low freq problem and maybe boost mids a little. I'm also going to change the beginning of the track as I know it sounds a bit simple.

Nice sample.

Good sound for me.

and i think you must use EQ Bass up for Warm low freq sound and EQ High for all good effect. at now sample sound very "plastic" but not bad.

greetz.

good stuff, get it finished

when i listen to this, it seems very mechanical. like everything is there at the time expected; like a train schedule. im probably stupid. anyways; try mellowing out some transition points? the sound is good, you got a nice pallette to work with. keep up the awesome job.

i two more things to add.
- i can see how everyone in here influences eachother, thats amazing.
- second, dont be negative about yourself ( "Noob" producer ) what is that talk man? believe in yourself.

you maybe new, but that does not mean you cant produce good music.
it how you can use a instument or virtual instrument to its potential.
yeah i think i stick to buying reason 3 since i was really considering buying project 5 v2
