Alcohol should be banned from clubs
Yesterday I went to see Mauro Picotto at the Forum in Aberdeen. Overall great performance by the Lizard man except for that he didn't play Hong Kong eventhough he pointed at me that he would play it.
Anyway I don't know if its a UK syndrome or if it occurs in other countries as well but the crowd drinks way too much alcohol. So many drunk people which were at the club just to show off. And there were several fights as well. Of which all participants were really badly drunk. This made me feel sad. In my opinion the clubbing scene would be much more joyful if the bouncers at the entrance was checking everyones alcohol halt to ensure that they don't let in people with any alcohol in the blood at all. If you want to drink go somewhere else. if you want to dance to good music you are welcome. if you can't have fun without alcohol then get a life or go somewhere else or drink afterwards.
And neither should there be any bars at the clubs. Instead there should be water handed out for free. What tastes better when you are really badly thirsty?
In this way the clubowners would save money on security and keep up a good mood in the club. Only happy people which enjoy the dj they are watching and are in there for the music. Yesterday it was clearly that some people didn't even have a clue who Picotto was since they shouted "Mario" LOL!
I know all this is impossible due to the fact that alcohol is the main income for a clubowner. But wouldn't it be good? 8)
Not everyone goes to a club to see whatever DJ is playing.

Scottish club land is on the decline big time.
People just want to go out and get as fucked as possible as quickly as possible and very few people actually have a clue about music anymore, especially the further north you go.
Glasgow and edinburgh has some real quality nights, but there mostly in the techno and house scene, trance nights attract the ned/chav species and when you get a collection of lower life forms collecting together within a set of 4 walls with alcohol to keep them hydrated, violence is inevitable.
I suggest the government legalise pills and ban alcohol

beer boys
there is no way a club could stay afloat financially if they didn't rack in the dough from all the alcohol sales. If they were to kill selling alcohol and give out free water they would have to charge you at least 4 - 5 times more cover charge.
but whatever, I am sure alcohol causes people to fight, and its not just that some people are morons.

And I don't care what anyone says. Vodka is such a drug
.
The idiots who can't handle their alcohol should be kept out. Anyways, thats what the bouncers are there for. Banning alcohol from clubs is plain stupidity though.
lol welcome to the UK fella. We like our Beer more than most countries on earth i imagine. Bare in mind that the UK club scene is in a shocking decline, with trance becoming more main-stream, its opening up to the masses here. The masses dont care whos playing, what theyre playing or how long they play for. They simply want a good time, thus Beer consumption rockets.
You'd have to check out Nation (the home of Cream) here in Liverpool to fully appreciate this. Never mind Godskitchen or Crasher, Nation is where is truly started with the legends on the decks. Imagine my horror when Paul van Dyk returns for the Ibiza Launch Party every May and sees scallies fighting at 3am in the Courtyard, and people letting open Fire Exits so their mates can come in for free. The name Cream here has become synonomous with drunken yobish behaviour, not the leading trance brand it used to be.
God knows what i can expect on the 28th when Pvd returns. Maybe some Fire Extinguisher fun?

Originally posted by swisstoni_uk ![]() Thank fuck it aint got that bad here yet. Nation usually has a limited amount of trouble, as its only when Cream stages events that the undesirables turn up. I dunno what its like over in the States, but certain music styles, attract stereotypical groups of people. Scouse House here (originated from Liverpool) attracts the scallies who cause the shit and Funky House attracts the fun boys with the girlies |
