Personally I like the change of pace. Do y'all agree or would you say there's another "it" thing taking over all the new tracks coming out lately?

i dunno, most trance breakbeat sections are incredibly weak compared to real breaks i tend to stay away.

your title contradicts itself. breakbeat does not equal trance. are you talking about parts of trance tracks with breaks in them? or trancey sounding breakbeat tracks? or both...?

but it is true, breaks are not trance. at times a broken beat can help the build after the break, i.e. make it a bit more intense. however one should never go further than two measures in this fashion.

there is a dj nearby that plays all trance with breaks in it, he plays a pretty nice set I think. He calls himself "trancefunk". he is one of those dudes who'se face has been photochopped and sent thru the intarnet many many times. Such a fun guy, about 4 feet tall, dances wildly while he plays, crazy little guy is great fun.
