Tech-trance

List your favorite producers. No Tiesto-type shit, that's not tech-trance (so no fuckin' Ernesto vs. Bastian, okay?). More like... Oliver Lieb... he's the definition of it. Great melodies with much work done on the percussion. What kind of music does Sam Sharp/SvD produce? I've only heard a couple of tracks, and they were kinda proggy if I remember right.

Lieb recommendations aren't really necessary... I'll be listening to any of his work I come by anyway.

And who's to decide what is tech-trance and what is not. Your daddy?
IMO,Mojado's tracks are very much tech-trance which IS 'Tiesto-type shit'.

some old filterheadz stuff.. their remix of Bedrock - Emerald

also Oliver 'reeloop' klitzig, whom i can't believe nobody has mentioned, also behind Kaylab [duh] and a bunch of other names.

also some picotto, like Verdi, and some Mario Piu, my favorite of his being Unicorn, though im not sure this qualifies by your lofty definitions.

let's also not forget the almighty Randy katana, though a tech trance fan does not need me to tell him that..

also, this might be more like techno, but stuff by Dj Misjah, Awex and Emmanuel Top seem to qualify as well.. might have a hard time finding them.

I am hard pressed to figure out tech trance if Dj Choose and Oliver Lieb are mentioned on the same page.. i remember Lieb for Subraumstimulation and Smoked - Metropolis, and Choose for 'Release Me.' Now those are quite incompatible. Ive tried to mention stuff that kind of fits both molds.

It's the percussion of techno, and melodies of trance combined. Ernesto vs. Bastian don't do that, they just give their tracks a harder edge. Plain crap. You can call that minimal tech-trance if you want, though.

honestly i dont know how i feel... i mean either you want trance or techno. Everything in the middle is gonna be cheezy tiesto/baker/mojado....

Even though I like some tracks better then others, there isnt much that makes Lieb "classier" other then the fact that hes been around forever.

If you dont like tiesto/baker chances are you wont like any of it.

I mean Woods & picotto are probably the guys that you are looking for. But their better tracks are closer to Techno then tech trance. you know?

Oh well, forget it then...

i mean I can list good tech trance...

Its probably my fav stuff to play once im drunk and what not. But I wouldn't call it far from what Tiesto plays or produces. I mean i dont think tiesto's stuff is 100% bad. He also plays a ton of decent tracks in his sets. His mixing may be a different story.

I mean even armin & mike put out Intruder which isn't such a bad tech trance track.

IMO most tech trance tracks are like "filler peak stuff" Because most of it is hard 14X's. And it still holds the trance build.
