May 2005 Mix - DJ Metatron - Somber [progressive]
May 2005 Mix

This is a darker mix. Dirty, deep, and .. dank.
I just was feelling like doing a darker mix. All the tunes are great in this one; I really love zgr's mix of Itsu, that tune is wicked. Also Kosmas Epsilon's Beyond, one of his best productions for sure. I try to have a more emotional aspect to my mixes; even though this mix doesn't have many vocally intense songs, you still have a feeling of emotional communication.. at least that's what I hope to acheive.
1. Conjure One - Manic Star (Intro Edit)
2. Pole Folder - Salvation on Slavery Sins (Nick Muir Mix)
3. Nikola Gala - Next Room
4. Mile 1 - Itsu ( zgr Can Remix )
5. Luke Chable Presents Quest - String Theory
6. Santiago Nino - Robotic Poem
7. Kosmas Epsilon - Beyond
8. Ava Mea - In The End
9. Damien Heck ft. Stephanie Vezina - Aural Signature (Vocal Mix)
10. Hydroid - Burn Proof
Also, does anyone else think Santiago Nino - Robotic Poem sounds like Contra? Anyway please enjoy and let me know what you think.

i'm now totally obsessed with nikola gala - next room
i read the description before listening to it and got a little worried that it would be more slow progressive like bread & butter or embalm. and even tho i loved both of those mixes, it's just not my preferred taste; but that has all changed now.
good set, but not as good as your two previous ones.
the track selection is ok.. some of the power you've built up in the first half slightly ebbs away after Robotic Poem, but overall the tracks are good.
some of the transitions do not quite work out, though. it's not because you lack talent (you proved you did in your previous sets), but because some of the tracks do not seem to work well together.. i'm talking about Robotic Poem into Beyond, and In the End into Aural Signature.
overall this is good, but i know you can do better
an0n: thanks a bunch! that track is awesome
Im glad I took part in your transformation of taste.
TOR: thanks for the comments, I agree with you this mix isn't my best. I will admit I was on a bit of a time crunch with the radio show mix and this mix (unofficially) due on the begining of the month. Though I still like the mix, these kinds of tracks are my forte'.
Thanks again, and keep an eye out for my next mix.
Oh man this is awesome good. Really digging this set. Great stuff man.
I have to say I've only been touring the Amateur DJs Promotion forum for a while and I have to say I like the stuff I find here better than the big guys. Everything has a new fresh twist to it, and I've found some really awesome stuff on here so far.
Thanks man
Ditto on what you said. I find most of the stuff I listen to these days is what I get off of here. I think it's because most of the DJs that post on here aren't afraid to be out of the mainstream. The good ones know that what people really want is something unique and that comes from genuine place. Anyway if you like this mix you really ought to check out a couple of my previous mixes. Thanks for listening, more will come...
^_^
Ok I think Somber is your best one yet, maybe just cause the second track...Pole Folder - Salvation on Slavery Sins (Nick Muir Mix....i think is sooo incredible.

| Originally posted by djmetatron yeah, the Nick Muir Mix is def the best version, at least IMO.. you should check out Pole Folder's new album, Zero Gold, if you like more chill, sexy progressive. ![]() ^_^ |
Another lovely mix. Nice touch on the intro.
Salvation on Slavery Sins in Zero Gold is nothing like the mix in your set.

Some of the vocals in it are just so seductive and relaxing. |

I had to add, in your intro to "tapped" the april mix...the fact you used The Postal Service makes you a god.
I've been waiting for someone to add in some good indie rock with trance type stuff
Try doing a set with some Death Cab for Cutie same lead singer btw
