To all those looking for a hotel in MTL for Swirl!
Never, NEVER call the hotel and book right from them. The average downtown hotel you will get is around $110. Go to priceline.com. I got a downtown hotel for $35 u.s (43 cdn) per night for the whole weekend.
Basically, you put the hotel class you are looking for, you choose the area and you make a price bid...it will search the whole area of only name brand hotels for your price amount. I booked it 20 days before and got that price for an average 2 star hotel. I know people that have booked a hotel from there a day before and gotten a 3 star for 32 dollars per night....just remeber to put when it asks for address "CA" for state and 99999 for zip code.
don't tell me you booked a 2 stars hotel

i sent an email to priceline.com to find out how i could book a room in a Canadian hotel by using Canadian home address. and this was there reply.
Thank you for taking the time to send us an e-mail. We understand that
you are from Canada and would like to know if you can use our website
to
make your request for a hotel room.
At present, we are not registered to conduct business in Canada. All
requests must be submitted with a major credit card such as Visa,
MasterCard, American Express or Discover, and because of licensing
agreements, you are required to provide a United States billing
address.
We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to serve your future travel
needs.
Sincerely,
Jayesh B.

use hotels.ca or expedia.ca
they have pretty much the same prices.
never book directly at the hotel, the worst you should do is call their 1800 number and reserve because you'll get a lower price.

i hear that...
i also work for a big ass compagnie and i agree. i'm just not willing to take the risk. so i booked with expidia.
BTW...all you have to do is when it asks for billing address, you out in your CC address. But underneath it when it asks for address again, you have to put in the Canadian code, which is: CA (california), and for zipcode you type in 99999
