Automation Follows Events in Cubase
Under File, Preferences (In SX 2.02), under editing there is an option that says Automation Follows Events. I've read the manual and I understand this to mean, if I copy or move an event, the automation should follow with it. This would be most useful. However, this has never worked for me. The option is indeed checked, but if I move or copy any midi event, none of the automation follows it. I must redo the friggin automation again. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?
i also would like this information
Ok I think I've figured it out. I think when they are talking about automation, they mean the actual events you can draw within the midi piece itself. You know the little dropdown in the bottom left has all those paramters that can be mapped to anything on the VSTi or whatever you want to automate. The automation I was referring to, is the kind you get when you enable the W. So, I'm thinking that automation created by the W cannot be copied when moving an event. Is that correct?
Ive figured out how to move your automation when you move your events, I couldnt find it in the manual but just did it by trial and error -
You need to goto Project > Show used Automation,
then everything you have automated will show on the sequencer.
Then simply highlight everything to be moved INCLUDING the automation! You will notice the 'dots' will also turn red.
then when you click and drag your events to somewhere else the automation moves with it.
Simple realy when you think about it!!

Yes but that's a pitty not to be able to copy the automation without select them... I forget to do that so many times...
