Exclamation If you were me and I were you, how would you promote this?

Hello,

My name is DJ MajiX and I am a independant artist. For the last two years I have been producing and publishing a different style of music. If you take Darude and mix him with Gary Newman, you get the closest to my style you can. Tightwork33 Entertainment, an indie label here in El Paso Tx., has expressed interest in this music and has signed me. Also, my latest two tracks have been winning awards since their release. If you would visit http://www.isound.com/dj_majix you could get a sampling of what I have to offer. If you want industry experience and awards listings you can visit http://www.artistopia.com/majixmarker . I am interested in promoting this in any way possible. Your advice would be greatly valued.

Thanks,
DJ MajiX

The intro to your SPACESHIP song is rather cool!
But then the vox starts and the cheap clap sample totally ruins this.
WOW...that vox is WORSE THAN MINE!!

No offense man. This just seems rather thin...not much "garnish" to dress it up. The percs sound thin and the voice seems too untreated.
Really, some more drum samples added to the kit may help.

The intro was REALLY good. But you went a different direction!
"Take my hand and fly with me..." Where the heck are you going? This just doesnt have the "flow"...doesnt mesh right. Too disjointed.

Keep at it!

Uplifting Electro?

Its different I'll give you that. That intro was killer, but it does take a reather different turn somewhere along the way.

I dont know if it really fits into the trance genre, but if your serious about promoting it, send it to some electronica labels. I'd say they are much more likely to back this style of thing. Its not my preference in taste, but I can see and appreciate the style of tune you are trying to make.

Jester ;) Good or bad, I got you talking.

Yes, I did go in a different direction with the song than what most people would expect. That's tantamount to the MajiX (Magicks) style. I don't portend that my music is the same as what most people expect to hear, instead, I try to successfully fuse many different styles into a new genre I'd like to call TranceFusion. For every person who hates my style, I find one who can't get enough. And to be honest, most of my spare time is spent looking for better VSTi's or better samples: drums, percussion, royalty free vocals, etc. Seeing as I fuse many different styles, the "Take my hand..." part was actually pretty difficult to pull off right. Try mixing progressive trance and bubblegum, it's not easy. But in the end, you listened to it at least to that point, and if you considered the build the best part, I have a radio mix just for you. Look again on that site and take the radio mix mp3 for free. It ends just before the abstract part. Thanks for listening to my tune, as soon as I am registered with soundclick I will hear yours.

Thank you again for your feedback,
DJ MajiX

LOVE IT!
From the very begining of the song I didn't expect to hear the female vocals. I really enjoyed hearing this song.... lyrics, beat, mood.... EVERYTHING!

Idea Just thinking....

You know, it's a constant debate with me whether or not to process the vocals. I did so on the "Ladies and G - G - G Gentlemen" track. Visit my garageband artist page link from below to hear it. I won "Best Male Vocals" and "Most Original" awards for this song. The MajiX formula for this song is: take Trance with Dance, mix in equal parts rock and hip/hop, follow with a dash of chopped screwed with the screws filed down for chewability. Maybe this fits your tastes better.

Beware though. I like handclaps. It's a me thing.

Unique and Unusal

I love the hand claps and the beat. It gives this song a live feel to it. The vocals and distortions are great, makes it a busy tune. The flavor of the the song brings to mind Dirty Vegas and Daft Punk, but your better than Daft Punk. The hook is unique and suggests that we sould all party down. You have created an unusual and unique sound that dance diffently needs. Nice job.

Just thought id add my thoughts on your track - I agree with what has been said so far - nice intro, BUT those vocals just kill it for me. I started laughing when they came in!

"Riding on a spaceship,to desire, higher,higher"

I havent heard lyrics like that since "Im rushing on pink champagne.." in the early 90's!!

Sorry but its not my cup of tea.

Smiley DJ So it's not for you..

Hey, you know what? I let the vocals in this song be the way they are after getting sh@ upon for the way I was doing it. Now I'm convinced that some people's advice is rated C. Not all of my style is like that. But it is all me. Why not try a different track, "Ladies and G - G - G Gentlemen" seems like it might be more your style. Look for it on http://www.isound.com/dj_majix on the mp3 page. Try a few others too. Some on there are sh!t, and I know it. But I've never just listened to one song by someone and formed an expert opinion of what they are all about. The best ones are the ones we are charging for. You can listen to those in their entirety for free though. If you invested enough time to read my post, and listen to my song, and write in your two cents worth, it affected you on some level. I would value your opinion more if you can tell me why it sucks. For every person who hates the vocals here, I can give you three who love them. So it's not your song. But maybe it's your style... Get back to me and let me know.
