Bigger hardrive for space. Faster prossesor & add a bigger video, sound & ram memory. You should just go out & buy a new one. It will be cheaper.

There will be so much compatibility issues if you start upgrading that old computer of yours. You need to change your mainboard and almost every component. That will cost you almost as much as a new one. What you save is very litle.

Simply put, get a new pc, or at least buy a bundle with Mboard, Ram, CPU, HDD etc, add current sound/gfx (tho most will have onboard sound anyway) and a case/psu to suit, then just build it up as you go. After 4 years however you may as well try to upgrade fully to a better machine, or just buy one thats even 12 months old as the prices won't be too bad now, and you'll notice more difference. It's sometimes too much hard work to upgrade a dinosaur, believe me i've tried

Glad everyone asked about the requirements before they jumped into telling him to buy all new stuff.

Do you want to play new games or just the ones you have?

What kinda stuff do you have already?

Free keyboard, monitor, speakers and so on.........

New stuff can be very cheap if you get older gen stuff rather than the "newest most extreme" stuff lol geeks with their "extreme" stuff.

with a pentium 4 3ghz, 1gb RAM, radeon 9600-256ram, SATA hard drive (i recommend seagate or maxtor, how large depends on you, i've got 480gb :P) and a 100$ asus m/b you are ok for atleast 3-4 years
thats my setup, i use draw, photoshop, premier, fruity loops (with a SHITLOAD of heavy vst's), i'm playing any game at high quality (i'm not much into games thought) and my pc never fails me down.
dont buy the latest stuff, that's a scam.

You obviously havent lubed your computer up for a while. A bit of vasaline rubbed over the motherboard will help the cogs move faster & it will also reduce the rash on your penis.
