Smiley DJ James Holden in Jax, FL

He definitely sets himself apart from the rest with his long mixes, heavy bass and dark sound. He was sippin' Red Bull and Jack, loved my "Squirrels Gone Wild" shirt and was getting over the time change from the UK. Spun his ass off. Another great show for The Blue Room in Jax.

wow, fun nite! Holden is such a nice humble dood... and he's kinda shy- it's cute

yes definately a very fun night! I enjoyed meeting RzO and Kelly (for about the 4th or 5th time) I agree Holden def. sets himself apart. Last night was literally as good as when he played at BED in Miami this year-obviuosly not quite as nice of a venue, but he was really throwing down-that Fischerspooner track was the highlight of the night-The crowd was o.k.-not the biggest but it was actually good-As I said to someone last night who was complaining about the crowd and scene in Jax-where else can you get quality DJ's like that with such a small crowd-it's almost like a private show-it's pretty rare to have someone like Holden play and there be less than 75 people there-actually starting to get spoiled-very much looking forward to this summer's line up-didn't see the ususal familiar faces last night though-Jax crowd needs to step it up! See you all soon!

Yes, he is very humble...almost expected to see him carrying a skateboard and backpack. The small crowds do have their advantages..no matter what time of night it is, you can always walk up and stand right in front of the booth and dance your ass off!

holden is the man....

productions, mixing.... he got it!

Awesome night - nice intimate crowd (aka sparse) in a weird sort of place.

The guy tore it up though - Full on from start to finish

Tracks that I can remember (in no order):

Andre Kraml - Safari (James Holden remix)
Tieferschwarz - Issst (Nathan Fake remix)
Nathan Fake - Dinamo
Britney Spears - Breathe (James Holden dub mix)
The Sky Is Pink - Nathan Fake
Fischerspooner - Just Let Go (Thin White Duke remix)

i agree that blue room is a very nice chill little spot. ive had alot of fun the few times ive been there. the only problem is: I dont think DJs who are used to spinning bigger clubs for hundreds of people are gonna wanna come back there. they have done a good job bringing them in, but the question is "can they bring them back?"

kelly923:

they brought holden back which i thought would NEVER happen considering how shitty everything was the first time
he was there... the music stopped atleast 3 times

i think dj's (like G&D) really enjoy the intimate atmosphere

i'm jealous of you guys that went. i wanted to go so badly but, it was mother's day and questionable on what time i would have left work. i survived so that's all that matters.

so i also need to rant in this thread too.

dear atlanta promoters,

how is it that jacksonville can book james holden but atlanta cannot? is it something against atlanta? do you think he won't bring a crowd? what is it? you have intrest so look into it. we would love to see him here. please bring james holden to atlanta.

thanks a bunch for all you do, leeann

I agree..in fact, G&D stated that they loved what they saw here and will definitely come back. We've been on Kinesis and Binczak to bring them back...they were my first show at the Blue Room and I 've been to all but 1 show there since.

I think this can go for S. Florida as well..... Once/Twice a yr. during WMC isnt enough!!!!!

I need my Holden fix sometime throughout the rest of yr, cuz theres no way I'm driving to Jax.
