dogs eating dead rats.

Hi guys.

My Mum told me of a dead rat in the garden. So i went lookin for it today but couldn't find it.

Later i found of on the drive way. We have 3 dogs. and they've been lifting it and playing with it.

u think my dogs are in any danger?? Rats aint the cleanest animals, so i'm a wee bit worried.

I'll not be sharing any food with them for a few days anyways

any advice mucho appreciated

Davo

Depends if you live in an area where rats transmit some nasty bugs.

Dave, either call DEFRA or the RSPCA, they will help you. It should be ok but its worth making sure. Dont phone your vet, he'll tell u to come down for a checkup and charge loads!
Was this the rat that was livin by your pond or an i thinkin of a UKTA?

my dad nearly caught vile's disease....its when you come into contact where infected rats have been usually in ditches, rivers or anywhere etc.....and if you get it through an open wound like a cut...your infected....i remember he felt rough as shit...and one night he got up 2 go toilet and his legs just gave way....luckily they got to it in time and gave him the stong tablets he neaded and it got rid of it.

but this jet skier in the thames wasnt so lucky...he fell off...went under....died a week later

take it to the vet anyway as soon as u can to be checked out...better to be safe than sorry.

seriously, don't take a chance, rats are like the dirtest rodents on the planet...

Put the three of them in a bag with a cement block and fuck them over the pier.

j/k. Despite the ugliness of ugly dave's dogs I'd never do that.

I'm sure you've noticed, but dogs aren't exactly the cleanest of animals either.

I wouldn't worry about it. Most animals have strong enough stomachs to eat raw (usually disease-infested) meat no problem. But if you feel worried, just give the vet a ring.
