Most currently consistent producer(s): Carl Craig, Oliver Lieb

Most consistent of all producer(s) of all time: Carl Craig, Oliver Lieb

Most currently inconsistent producer(s): Daft Punk, Moby

Most inconsistent producer(s) of all time: Daft Punk, Moby

according to my general impression....at least if by consistent you mean "always good" or "always bad" instead of "always the same style" and "always a different style".

Most Inconsistent - Mauro Picotto (not in terms of quality, but genre, I guess. He seems to be all over the map with his productions)

Most Consistent - Matt Darey, or Three Drives a.k.a. Ton T.B.

Christopher Lawrence produces consistently good tracks, from his days at Hook in England in the late ninties to today.

actually i am a daft fan. but i do know that most people consider them to be inconsistent. i'm not playing favorites, unlike everyone else in this thread.

Well, I would rather hear your opinion rather than just repeating everyone else's. I'll be hearing their's anyways.

Hopefully you don't do that all the time and just saw what everyone else says.

so what do you want, our favorit producers of all time, or the most consistent/inconsistent as agreed upon by fans?

that's really what this is then, just another "post your favorite/least favorite artists" thread in disguise.

Not your "fav producers of allll time", but who you think is good on a consistent basis. I like some of Tisto's productions, I just think he's completely inconsistent.

i don't know about you but an artist becomes a favourite to me if he consistantly puts out quality stuff therefore obviously i'm going to name favourites and not a dj that i know nothing about.

nevertheless, if that's what you want, the thread is largely useless. you think tiesto is inconsistent, and someone else thinks he's consistent. you can't both be right. therefore, what is the point? to see what people's tastes are like. and what better way than to make a thread like this, where everyone will put their favorite producers as the most consistent, and most likely their most hated producers as the least consistent.

bah, if you just don't get it, then don't post, that simple.

anyways, how about some intelligent responses that aren't "this is what everyone else's thinks so I'll post that".

then how do you distinguish what is consistant or inconsistant. By what other people think?

It is a matter of taste. If I hate half the stuff an artist puts out and I love the other half then I would consider them inconsistant. If one of my friends loves or hates everything the person puts out then that makes them consistant.

So which one of us would be right then?

no, i distinguish between who others think is consistent and who i think is consistent. but i choose to nominate who is generally agreed upon to be the least/most consistent in each case because i'm trying to do what krysta said...oh yeah, make some "intelligent responses"

and i get it. probably the only one who gets it so far.

you have seen ta track of the year eh, as well as dj mag #1 dj of the year as well...?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on May-11-2005 19:29:

The most inconsistent would have to be The Chemical Brothers. They either make solid gold or utterly disposable filler, with hardly any middle ground.

And most consistent... MIKE. Despite what his fanboys claim, you know exactly what you're getting from a new MIKE record.

it doesn't matter which of you are right, that wasn't my point. my point was that if this thread's purpose isn't to ascertain who is truly the most consistent/inconsistent producer(s) (because of its highly subjective nature such would be impossible), then its point is no more than a thinly veiled "post your favorite/least favorite producers" thread. i attempted to give the most objective answers by using a more objective standard (what is generally thought by...most).
