obviously the Dominican and USA team look really powerful but I really like Venezuelas team to do really well as well.

Should be a good tourney and good for baseball.

Bit early to say who would be in the bullpen and who would be starting. On current form the D-Train would have to be included as a starter and Gagne might recover from injury to become the best closer again rather than Lidge. Wouldn't Cuba have a fairly strong team? Have to say though the Dominican Republic team looks awesome!

I didn't read the whole article, only the parts that I wanted to know... like MLB teams can't block players from going, which is what I wanted... yet I still fear these players will put their MLB teams first, and decline... so I'm SO seeing a TEAM USA with the likes of dirt dogs like Trot Nixon, Kevin Millar, AJ Peirzynksi, Zito, Giles, Craig Wilson, and a bunch of college kids??? no? I hope not...
I'm excited if the big boys do decide to play... I'd definately take the veteran leadership of Jeff Kent over Mark Loretta, plus NO ONE will be behind a USA team with Bonds on it, come on...lol. It will be tough enough for sox fans to root for a team with AROD on it...
Anyone with the pottential rosters for Japan I think they will be serious contenders since its practically their #1 sport and they have better resources than the other countries.
That author must be on crack you know Manny is gonna want to represent for the Dominican.
It would be nice to see Cuba in it and Fidel letting the players who are cuban and escaped to play in the US play on their national team. Another note about Cuba their women are

i think the lineup for the US team is going to change. i would like to see Hafner get on there as a DH or backup 1st baseman. and unless they stop checking for steriods, i dont see sammy sosa making any team.
Eddie for finding that site you officialy need a life more than I do!!!!

| Originally posted by Mebot Actually i was going to ask if Mexico had a team. I don't if there are a lot of players or not that play on any MLB teams. I only know of Vinny Castilla, but he's getting on in his years (38 years old). Are there any other notable players from Mexico? |

see there you go
I wouldn't put it past Mexico to make a surprise turn of events by winning a couple games.
I knew Mexico had a team and a league of its own. It's just that I don't like baseball at all. So I just ignore the news about the league.
But go Mexico!
