Didn't Manny get his US passport at the end of last season?

But it's great news! Now if they'll only show it here on dutch tv...

Bit early to say who would be in the bullpen and who would be starting. On current form the D-Train would have to be included as a starter and Gagne might recover from injury to become the best closer again rather than Lidge. Wouldn't Cuba have a fairly strong team? Have to say though the Dominican Republic team looks awesome!

haha well I got these rosters from an article in ESPN, the author thinks since Manny is so happy about being a US citezen he'll probably just play for us.

Disney they probably will show it in Holland cause your country is part of the world Cup

Acid remember Gagne is canadian
also none of the MLB players from Cuba will play for their country obviously, and as of right now Cuba hasnt been confirmed to play in the World Cup yet cause of Fidel castro.

Posted by King Ecnal on May-12-2005 18:14:

I didn't read the whole article, only the parts that I wanted to know... like MLB teams can't block players from going, which is what I wanted... yet I still fear these players will put their MLB teams first, and decline... so I'm SO seeing a TEAM USA with the likes of dirt dogs like Trot Nixon, Kevin Millar, AJ Peirzynksi, Zito, Giles, Craig Wilson, and a bunch of college kids??? no? I hope not...

I'm excited if the big boys do decide to play... I'd definately take the veteran leadership of Jeff Kent over Mark Loretta, plus NO ONE will be behind a USA team with Bonds on it, come on...lol. It will be tough enough for sox fans to root for a team with AROD on it...

Posted by InterMilan31 on May-12-2005 19:33:

Anyone with the pottential rosters for Japan I think they will be serious contenders since its practically their #1 sport and they have better resources than the other countries.

That author must be on crack you know Manny is gonna want to represent for the Dominican.

It would be nice to see Cuba in it and Fidel letting the players who are cuban and escaped to play in the US play on their national team. Another note about Cuba their women are

yeah i heard the same too ..

but not many people remember how much japan was a baseball powerhouse back during the late 80s into the mid 90s ..

japan has some very big powerful hitters .. you think they should be tested for roids, since they have small bodies, but jacking up 400+ ft home runs ?? ... hhahahhahahahaha

but what happened to korea and taiwan ?? .. they always seems to tear it up during the little league world series, but don't produce much professional baseball stars .. i would love to see korea put something together, because byung-yung kim has some stuff .. a weird rotation i might say, but he can strike people out ..

Ierxium your probably jokin but yeah of course Mexico plays baseball, Unless Canada is better than I think (their pitching staff I dont like that much), Mexico and the U.S will qualify from that group.
http://www.lmb.com.mx/

yeah I know Dominican vs Venezuela
I had that as the final and now theyre facing off in the 1st round.nice.

I want to see that Asian group and how it fold out, can you imagine the crowds at those games haha. Those are gonna be some battles.

when South Africa plays USA no doubt the mercy rule will be in effect lol.

Lets see how many Cubans defect.....

In the last olympics Italy got killed by minor league competition, geeze imagine now.

haha you never know he probably will, last I checked he was still playing in the Mexican League lol
Fernando MANIA!!!

Posted by jonze on Jul-12-2005 16:07:

i think the lineup for the US team is going to change. i would like to see Hafner get on there as a DH or backup 1st baseman. and unless they stop checking for steriods, i dont see sammy sosa making any team.

Eddie for finding that site you officialy need a life more than I do!!!!

italy is gonna get murdered like 50 and the Game SON!! HOLLA!

Actually i was going to ask if Mexico had a team. I don't if there are a lot of players or not that play on any MLB teams. I only know of Vinny Castilla, but he's getting on in his years (38 years old).

Are there any other notable players from Mexico?

dude all I did was punch up Italian baseball on google and it came out right away
Be proud of your little league lol

oh and this is nothing compared to when I was bored in class and I found all those InterMilan fan sites

I agree Sosa sucks now without the roids, but his country still loves him so I dont see him not getting chosen

Notable Mexicans in the Majors
Jorge Cantu
Luis Ayala
Vinny Castilla
Ramon Castro
Elmer Dessens
Erubiel Durazo
Geronimo Gil
Estaban Loiza
Rodrigo Lopez
Antonio Osuna
Oliver Perez
Dennys Reyes
Ricardo Rincon
Oscar Robles
Ismael Valdes
Oscar Villareal
and maybe a suprise appearence by no other than
Fernando Valenzuela!!

Plus Mexico has their own league and they have decent players, one of their teams went pretty far in the Carribean World Series.

HORALE!

oh and why isnt Colombia in this, we have two more players in the majors than Holland, Italy and South Africa combined, Edgar Renteria and Orlando Cabrera
If theres one thing about us is if we're gonna produce a Major League talent, he's gonna be a All Star Shortstop with a World Series Championship ring lol
apperently not enough players to make a national team

Posted by Mebot on Jul-12-2005 20:00:

see there you go

I wouldn't put it past Mexico to make a surprise turn of events by winning a couple games.

Posted by sensorium on Jul-12-2005 21:28:

I knew Mexico had a team and a league of its own. It's just that I don't like baseball at all. So I just ignore the news about the league.

But go Mexico!
