The Maybach Coupé Exelero is the new Batmobile

Okay so it isn't the new Batmobile but it sure as hell should be.

I happened to read the new "Auto, Motor und Sport" today and it had pictures of this beauty.

Full article in German

Built on the base of the maybach limousine. Maximum speed measured to be 220 miles/h.
Too bad it is just a prototype and will most likely remain the only one of its kind.
This is how a $500,000 car should look.

It's awesome... it's neo-art deco

Art deco was the pinnacle of design IMO.

it's not from the Maybach, it's from a 1930's-era Austin 851... but it's a related design.

edit:

here's a '35 Maybach

edit 2:

check out this prototype Audi from the 30's

this is a sweet car but something about the back end i dont like...i think the taillights..they jsut dont fit in too well

and the front lights are a bit too high

Just further proof that the Germans REALLY know what they're doing with cars.

Compared to the SLR, GTR, and SL65AMG this is the black sheep of the family...
